Noluthando 'Nolly' Meje Nqayi (born 30 October 1986) is a South African actress and singer. She is best known for her roles in the popular serials ''Farewell Ella Bella'', ''Swartwater'' and ''Silent Witness''. Personal life Meje was born on 30 October 1986, in Cape Town, South Africa. She completed her education from Camps Bay High School in Cape Town. Her younger brother, Sobantu Nqayi is also a popular actor in South African television and cinema. Career In 2002, Meje reached the top 100 of the first season of the M-Net reality competition ''Idols South Africa''. In 2003, she became one of top 12 finalists on the second season, tying for eleventh place. In 2011, she again contested in the seventh season and became a top 16 finalist—this time, resulting in a tenth place finish. Meje appeared in several television series such as ''Shooting Stars'', ''Home Affairs'' and ''Interrogation Room''. Idols South Africa
''Idols'' is a television show on the South African television network Mzansi Magic, and previously on M-Net, based on the popular British show ''Pop Idol''. The show is a contest to determine the best young singer in South Africa. The general format of the show is that thousands of hopeful performers from across South Africa audition in front of the judges. They are narrowed down to approximately 100 to enter the theatre rounds. They perform in group and solo rounds until 16 finalists are chosen by the judges (usually 8 males and 8 females). From these, the top 10 are selected, then each week viewers have several hours following the broadcast of the previous episode to vote by phone, SMS or online for their favourite contestant. The contestant(s) with the fewest votes is sent home each week. It was presented by Candy Litchfield and Matthew Stewardson in the first season. ''Idols South Africa II'' was the second season of South African reality interactive talent show based on the British talent show '' Pop Idol''. It was aired from June 2003, exactly one year after the first season ended, to October of the same year. With Colin Moss and Letoya Makhene new hosts were introduced and half of the judging panel was replaced as Mara Louw and Gareth Cliff replaced Penny Lebyane and Marcus Brewster. The number of finalists was increased to 12 but only two male contestants made it through the semifinal group of the top 32: Jacques Terre'Blanche and Wafeeq Saffodien who both eventually managed to reach the top 5. Originally chosen as a wildcard winner, Francisca Blasisch suddenly quit and was replaced by Khwezi Kekana in the top 12 where she was voted off in the first liveshow. ''Idols South Africa VII'' was the seventh season of South African reality interactive talent show based on the British talent show Pop Idol. It premiered on 5 June 2011. The judges returned with the addition of Unathi Msengana in the place of Mara Louw and were supported by a guest judge in every casting city. After the auditions, call backs were held in Sun City for the golden ticket holders. After the theater, group and special guest The Parlotones rounds the final number of contestants were brought down to 16. ''Isidingo'' is a South African soap opera, with dialogue mostly in English and isiXhosa. The series premiered on SABC 3 in July 1998 and was broadcast evenings on SABC 3 from Monday to Friday at 19:00. Until 2001 it was titled ''Isidingo: The Need''.
