Noel Williams (footballer)
Noel Williams is an Alliance Party of Northern Ireland politician, Councillor on Carrickfergus Borough Council and a former Royal Air Force Wing Commander. He was brought up in Sunnylands, Carrickfergus; attended Sunnylands Primary School and was educated at the old Carrickfergus Technical College before entering the Royal Air Force as a technician. Williams was later commissioned as a pilot and having gained his Wings flew a variety of aircraft including the Hercules transport aircraft. He traveled all over the world and enjoyed postings throughout the UK as well as tours of duty in the Middle East, Cyprus and Malta, attaining the rank of Wing Commander before leaving the service. After leaving the Royal Air Force, Williams was appointed as Head of the Energy Saving Trust in Northern Ireland. Stewart Dickson
Stewart Dickson (born 8 December 1950) is an Alliance Party of Northern Ireland politician who has been a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for East Antrim since 2011. Political career Councillor (1977-1981, 1985-2011) Dickson entered politics in 1977, when he was elected to Carrickfergus Borough Council representing Area A, the predecessor of the Knockagh Monument electoral area. He lost his seat to the Democratic Unionist Party in the 1981 local elections but regained it at the 1985 local elections and has been re-elected at each local election since then. He served as Mayor from 1992 to 1993. Carrickfergus
Carrickfergus ( , meaning " Fergus' rock") is a large town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It sits on the north shore of Belfast Lough, from Belfast. The town had a population of 27,998 at the 2011 Census. It is County Antrim's oldest town and one of the oldest towns in Ireland as a whole. Carrickfergus Castle, built in the late 12th century at the behest of Anglo-Norman knight John de Courcy, was the capital of the Earldom of Ulster. After the earldom's collapse, it remained the only English outpost in Ulster for the next four centuries. Carrickfergus Borough Council
Carrickfergus Borough Council was a district council in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. It merged with Ballymena Borough Council and Larne Borough Council in May 2015 under local government reorganisation in Northern Ireland to become Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. The council was based at Carrickfergus Town Hall and the council administered the town, on the north shore of Belfast Lough, and surrounding area, which extended from Greenisland in the south-west to Whitehead in the east. The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the United Kingdom's air and space force.
