No Way Out (2012)
The 2012 No Way Out (known as No Escape in Germany) was the 12th and final No Way Out professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE. It took place on June 17, 2012, at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It was the first No Way Out held since 2009 and replaced Capitol Punishment for the June 2012 PPV slot, thus being the only No Way Out event held in June as all previous ones were held in February. Following this event, however, No Way Out was again discontinued and replaced by Payback in 2013. Nine matches were contested at the event, with one match on the pre-show. In the main event, John Cena defeated Big Show in a Steel Cage match. In other prominent matches, Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler to retain the World Heavyweight Championship and CM Punk defeated Kane and Daniel Bryan to retain the WWE Championship. April Jeanette Mendez (born March 19, 1987) is an American author and retired professional wrestler. She is best known for her time in WWE under the ring name AJ Lee. The brand extension, also referred to as the brand split, is the separation of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE's roster of wrestlers (and, at various times, creative staff) into distinct divisions, or "brands". The promotion's wrestlers are assigned to a brand via the annual WWE Draft and exclusively perform on that brand's weekly television show, with some exceptions. WWE Elimination Chamber is a professional wrestling event produced by WWE, a Connecticut-based professional wrestling promotion. It is available only through pay-per-view (PPV) and the livestreaming services, Peacock and the WWE Network. The event was established in 2010, replacing No Way Out as the annual February PPV. The concept of the event is that one or two main event matches are contested inside the Elimination Chamber, either with championships or future opportunities at championships at stake. The Elimination Chamber match itself had been created in 2002 and held at various other WWE pay-per-views before the establishment of the namesake event in 2010. No Way Out (2000)
The 2000 No Way Out was the second No Way Out professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). It took place on February 27, 2000, at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Although it was the second No Way Out event, it was the first held under this name, as it was preceded in 1998 by an event named No Way Out of Texas, which was the 20th In Your House event; the event's title was truncated to "No Way Out" as it was not held in Texas. The main event was a Hell in a Cell match, a match where the ring and ringside area was surrounded by a 20-foot-high roofed steel cell between WWF Champion Triple H and Cactus Jack; Triple H won the match to retain his championship.
