''No Date, No Signature'' ( fa, بدون تاریخ، بدون امضاء) is a 2017 Iranian drama film directed by Vahid Jalilvand. It was selected as the Iranian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Premise While driving his car, Dr. Kaveh Nariman accidentally hits a motorcycle that a family was riding on. The family leaves apparently unscathed. The next day, at his place of work, which is forensic medicine, Dr. Nariman comes across the dead body of the son of the same family, but he refuses to face the family of the deceased in order to find out the main reason of the boy's death. Vahid Jalilvand
Vahid Jalilvand ( Persian: وحید جلیلوند; born March 11, 1976) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, actor and editor. He has won the Crystal Simorgh for Best First Director and Best First Film at the 33rd Fajr Film Festival and the FIPRESCI Award at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival for his feature directorial debut in drama film ''Wednesday, May 9'' (2015). In 2017, he won The Orizzonti Award for Best Director at the 74th Venice International Film Festival for his second film, ''No Date, No Signature''. His third film, '' Beyond the Wall'' (2022) competed for the Golden Lion at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. Career Vahid Jalilvand was born in Kermanshah in 1976. List Of Iranian Submissions For The Academy Award For Best Foreign Language Film
Iran has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film regularly since 1994. Prior to the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Imperial Iran sent a single film in 1977. Iran has submitted a total of twenty-six films for Oscar consideration and three films, Majid Majidi's '' Children of Heaven'' and Asghar Farhadi's '' A Separation'' and '' The Salesman'', have received an Oscar nomination. Of the three films, ''A Separation'' and ''The Salesman'' won the award. Six of the submitted films were directed by Majidi and five of them were directed by Farhadi. This is a list of submissions to the 91st Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. The submitted motion pictures must be first released theatrically in their respective countries between 1 October 2017 and 30 September 2018. The deadline for submissions was 1 October 2018, with the Academy announcing a list of eligible films on 8 October. A total of 89 countries submitted a film, with 87 of those being accepted. The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations.
