Niv Berkowitz
Niv Berkowitz ( he, ניב ברקוביץ; born April 25, 1986) is an Israeli professional basketball player for Hapoel Haifa of the Israeli National League. He is the son of former basketball player Miki Berkowitz. Early years Berkowitz was born in Ramat HaSharon, Israel, he played for Hapoel Ramat HaSharon and Maccabi Tel Aviv youth teams. In 2004, Berkowitz joined Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he played in 7 games before starting his professional career. Professional career On July 4, 2013, Berkowitz signed with Hapoel Eilat for the 2013–14 season. On July 4, 2014, Berkowitz signed a one-year contract extension with Hapoel Eilat. he helped Eilat reach the Israeli League Finals, where they eventually lost to Hapoel Jerusalem. On July 19, 2015, Berkowitz signed with Ironi Nahariya for the 2015–16 season. That season, he led the league in assists by averaging 6.7 per game. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. 2011–12 Israeli Basketball Super League
The 2011–2012 Israeli Basketball Super League was the 58th season of the top basketball league in Israel. The season began on 16 October 2011 and ended on 24 May 2012. Maccai Tel Aviv won the championship title for the 50th time. Format Each of the 11 participating teams play 20 regular league games, one home game and one away game against each other team. After that, there is 3rd round in which every team play against each other team once. The top eight teams advance to the playoff, where they play best-of-5 series decided by the rankings at the end of the regular season (first against eighth, second against seventh and so on). The series winners play in the Final Four to determine the championship. Miki Berkowitz
Moshe "Miki" Berkovich (or Mickey Berkowitz; he, משה "מיקי" ברקוביץ'; born 17 February 1954) is an Israeli former professional basketball player. A 193 cm shooting guard, he is considered to be one of the greatest Israeli basketball players of all time. Berkovich was named one of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players in 1991. In 1998, he was named Israel's Top Sportsmen of the 50 Year Jubilee (1948–1998).
