Nismo Global Driver Exchange
The Nismo Global Driver Exchange (also known as the Nismo Global Athlete Program) was an initiative from Nissan and Nismo to share driving experience from various motor racing categories around the world. The program was launched in February 2013 and consisted of drivers racing in the All-Japan Formula Three Championship, Blancpain Endurance Series, FIA World Endurance Championship, GP3 Series, Super GT and V8 Supercars. Drivers from the program have also raced Nissan cars in various endurance races, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Dubai 24 Hour, 24 Hours Nürburgring, Spa 24 Hours, Bathurst 12 Hour and the Sepang 12 Hours. Examples of driver exchanges include Michael Krumm and Lucas Ordóñez testing a V8 Supercar in 2013 and James Moffat racing in the 2014 Dubai 24 Hour. Nissan GT-R
The Nissan GT-R (Japanese: 日産・GT-R, ''Nissan GT-R''), is a high-performance sports car and grand tourer produced by Nissan, unveiled in 2007. It is the successor to the Skyline GT-R, a high performance variant of the Nissan Skyline. Although this car was the sixth-generation model to bear the GT-R name, the model is no longer part of the Nissan Skyline model line up since that name is now reserved for Nissan's luxury-sport vehicles. The GT-R is built on the exclusively-developed Nissan PM platform, which is an enhanced evolution of the Nissan FM platform used in the separate Nissan Skyline luxury car and the Nissan Z sports car. The 24 Hours of Spa is an Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance racing event for cars held annually since 1924 at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Stavelot, Belgium. It is currently sponsored by TotalEnergies. History The Spa 24 Hours was conceived by Jules de Their and Henri Langlois Van Ophem just one year after the inaugural 24 Hours of Le Mans was run. It debuted in 1924 over a circuit on public roads between the towns of Francorchamps, Malmedy and Stavelot, under the auspices of the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB). The present circuit was inaugurated in 1979 with only slight variations since then. GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup
The GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, formerly for sponsorship reasons the Blancpain Endurance Series from 2011 to 2015 and Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup from 2016 to 2019, is a sports car racing series developed by SRO Motorsports Group and the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB) with approval from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It features grand tourer racing cars modified from production road cars complying with the FIA's GT3 regulations. The series's goal is to be an endurance racing championship for GT3 cars, similar to the European Le Mans Series which uses GTE cars and Le Mans Prototypes. The series was primarily sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Blancpain, and the company's Lamborghini Super Trofeo series serve as support races. Jaguar I-Pace ETrophy
The Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy was a battery electric zero-emission international motor racing series supporting the FIA Formula E Championship which ran two seasons from late 2018 to mid 2020. The series was cancelled after the 2019–20 season, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ''eTrophy'' saw entrants compete in a race-prepared Jaguar I-Pace, also bearing the same name as the series, with the races taking place on selected Formula E weekends. Alex Buncombe (born 28 August 1981 in Taunton, England) is a British racing driver, recently left RJN Motorsport after the Blancpain Endurance Series. He is a part of the Nismo Global Driver Exchange, working with Nissan and RJN Motorsport to provide graduates of the GT Academy program with guidance and helping them to develop their motor racing skills. He is the brother of Chris Buncombe. Career Buncombe competed in the British Formula Renault Championship from 2001 to 2003, finishing fifth in the 2003 Winter Series. He took part in his first GT race in 2005, competing in the Trofeo Maserati. He won his first race in the series, at Monza, by thirty-five seconds. From 2007 to 2011, Buncombe competed in the GT4 European Series for RJN Motorsport. He finished third in 2007 before finishing as runner-up in 2008 and 2009. 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series Season
The 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series season was the fifth season of the Blancpain Endurance Series. The season started on 12 April at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Monza and ended on 20 September at the Nürburgring. 2015 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour
The 2015 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour was an endurance race for a variety of GT and touring car classes, including: GT3 cars, GT4 cars and Group 3E Series Production Cars. The event, which was staged at the Mount Panorama Circuit, near Bathurst, in New South Wales, Australia on 8 February 2015, was the thirteenth running of the Bathurst 12 Hour. 53 cars were entered for the race and 50 cars started the race, with two entries withdrawn following crashes in practice and the other due to drivers being injured in a road accident prior to the event. Katsumasa Chiyo, Wolfgang Reip and Florian Strauss won the event driving a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3. Reip and Strauss had both come through the GT Academy programme. James Moffat (born 18 June 1984) is an Australian professional racing driver who competed in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. In 2018 he drove for Wall Racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship. Lucas Ordóñez Martín-Esperanza (born May 1, 1985) is a Spanish racecar driver, who entered professional racing by winning a spot in a PlayStation 3 '' Gran Turismo'' competition. Racing for Nissan in the 2009 GT4 European Cup season, he secured a podium finish in his first event. Two race wins towards the end of the season secured him joint second place overall. In 2011 he and his team came in 2nd in their class in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ordonez began 2012 by taking the role of lead driver in Nissan's 'all-gamer car' at the Dubai 24 Hours.
