Nirra Fields
Nirra Fields (born December 3, 1993) is a Canadian professional basketball player for İzmit Belediyespor. She has also played for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Fields represents the Canadian national team internationally, where she participated at the 2014 FIBA World Championship. High school Fields started high school at Lakeside Academy in Montreal in 2007, followed by Lower Canada College for a year. The following year she spent at Regina High School in South Euclid, Ohio. She spent her junior year at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, where she averaged 26.5 points per game. She transferred to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California for her senior year. Although she only played for Mater Dei for one year, she made enough of an impact that the school retired her jersey at the end of the year. Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. 2014 FIBA World Championship For Women
The 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, the 17th edition of FIBA's premier international tournament for women's national basketball teams, was held in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey from 27 September to 5 October 2014. This tournament implemented the new expanded free throw lane, the restricted arc, and extended 3-point line (6.6–6.75 m). The United States defended their title and won their ninth overall gold medal by beating Spain 77–64 in the final. Australia defeated Turkey 74–44 to capture the bronze medal. This was the last FIBA championship to use the name of "FIBA World Championship for Women". Shortly after the event, FIBA changed the name of the competition to the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, presumably to align its name with that of the corresponding men's competition. The 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship for Women was hosted by Chile from July 21 to July 31, 2011. The draw for the Championship took place on March 18, 2011 in Puerto Montt. Regina High School was a private school, private, Roman Catholic Church, Catholic all-girls high school located in South Euclid, Ohio. It was run by the Sisters of Notre Dame of Coesfeld, Sisters of Notre Dame, who also run Notre Dame College, which is located next door. It was a part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
