Ningbo Suburban Railway
NBIR (''Ningbo Intercity Railway.'') also known as Ningbo Suburban Railway is a commuter rail service that connects urban Ningbo with outlying cities and counties beyond the reach of the city's Ningbo Rail Transit network. The "S"-numbered suburban rail lines are managed by the Ningbo Intercity Railway CO.,Ltd., an subsidiary of CR Shanghai, part of the national railway company and partially owned by Ningbo Rail Transit Co.,Ltd., the municipal company that operates the metro. There are 1 suburban railway line currently in operation: Ningbo–Yuyao or Yongyu (S1). Ningbo (; Ningbonese: ''gnin² poq⁷'' , Standard Mandarin pronunciation: ), formerly romanized as Ningpo, is a major sub-provincial city in northeast Zhejiang province, People's Republic of China. It comprises 6 urban districts, 2 satellite county-level cities, and 2 rural counties, including several islands in Hangzhou Bay and the East China Sea. Ningbo Rail Transit, also known as the Ningbo Metro, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Ningbo, Zhejiang and its suburbs. Ningbo–Yuyao Intercity Railway
Ningbo–Yuyao intercity railway is a commuter rail service in Ningbo, Zhejiang, part of the planned Ningbo Intercity Railway network. It runs from Ningbo railway station in Haishu District to Yuyao railway station in Yuyao on the existing Xiaoshan–Ningbo railway. There are also through operation to Shaoxing Tourism New Transit railway. Passengers can transfer to Line 2 and Line 4 of Ningbo Metro at Ningbo railway station. It is the first line to provide " Higher-speed" commuter rail services, with trains travelling up to in Ningbo and capable of transporting up to 2,000 people. By 2019, the operating speed of the line is limited to 120km/h. Xiaoshan–Ningbo Railway
The Xiaoshan–Ningbo railway or Xiaoyong railway (), is a double-track railroad in eastern China between Hangzhou and Ningbo in Zhejiang Province. Its name in Chinese, the Xiaoyong Line, is named after the railway's two terminal stations, Xiaoshan, a suburban district of Hangzhou on the southern bank of Qiantang River, and Ningbo, whose Chinese character abbreviation is ''yong''. The line is long and was originally built in three parts in 1912, 1914 and 1936; rebuilt in 1959, then electrified in 2009. Cities along route include Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Shangyu, Yuyao and Ningbo, all in Zhejiang Province. The Hangzhou–Ningbo high-speed railway runs parallel to the line.
