Nina Svetlanova
Nina Svetlanova N.B. She is homonym to "Nina leksandrovna Nikolayeva-vetlanova", who was the second wife of conductor Evgeny Svetlanov.(born in Kiev, Ukraine Ukrainian SSR, January 23, 1932) is a Russian-American concert pianist and educator. She became a naturalized United States citizen in 1983. She has been a professor of piano at New York's Manhattan School of Music and Mannes College of Music since the late 1970s. Before her teaching career, she was known as a concert pianist and collaborative artist, being the main pianist to work with Armenian mezzo-soprano Zara Dolukhanova. Svetlanova graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Heinrich Neuhaus, who she studied with from the age of 16 to 23 (1948–1955), during a seven-year period. Heinrich Neuhaus
Heinrich Gustav Neuhaus ( pl, Henryk (Harry) Neuhaus, russian: Ге́нрих Густа́вович Нейга́уз, Genrikh Gustavovič Nejgauz, 10 October 1964) was a Russian-born pianist and teacher of German and Polish extraction. Part of a musical dynasty, he grew up in a Polish-speaking household. He taught at the Moscow Conservatory from 1922 to 1964. He was made a People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1956. His piano textbook '' The Art of Piano Playing'' (1958) is regarded as one of the most authoritative and widely used approaches to the subject.
