Nil Köksal
Nil Köksal is a Turkish-born Canadian television and radio journalist, most recently the weekday anchor of '' World Report'' on CBC Radio One. In July 2022, she was announced as the new host of ''As It Happens'' beginning in September. Köksal has worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation since 2001, and has been a member of the '' CBC News: Morning'' team since November 2005. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor's degree and from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in journalism. She was born in Istanbul, Turkey and raised in both Ontario and Vancouver. ''On The Record'' (formerly ''The Ryersonian'') is the masthead news title produced by journalism students at Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Canada. Students produce daily news for the publication's website, live-blog local events relevant to students and broadcast TV news, also available on the website, at least once a week. Select news content is also published, in print, once a week, and distributed on campus on Wednesdays throughout the school year. ''On The Record'' accepts submissions from the entire Toronto Metropolitan University student body. It's also a "capstone course" - meaning it's one of several paths through the final year of the Bachelor of Journalism program for students.
