Niko Verekauta (born February 16, 1987, in Kadavu Island, Kadavu) is a Fiji, Fiji Islands Sprint (running), sprinter. Biography He represented Fiji in the Athletics at the 2006 Commonwealth Games - Men's 400 metres, 400m sprint at 2006 Commonwealth Games and the Athletics at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's 400 metres, 400m sprint at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He also won five gold medals at the Mini South Pacific Games in 2009. Nabukelevu
Nabukelevu is a volcano located on the southwest portion of Kadavu Island in Fiji. It is tall, and last erupted around 1660. It has formed lava domes Nabukelevu is the only area in west Kadavu Island that retains extensive old-growth forest. A area centred on Nabukelevu is the Nabukelevu Important Bird Area. It supports populations of Vulnerable species, vulnerable Collared Petrel and Crimson shining parrot, and Near-threatened species, near threatened Whistling fruit dove and Kadavu fantail. Nouméa () is the capital and largest city of the French special collectivity of New Caledonia and is also the largest francophone city in Oceania. The Pacific Games records in athletics are set by athletes who are representing one of the Pacific Games Council member federations at either the Pacific Games or the Pacific Mini Games. Both games are quadrennial events. The Pacific Games began as South Pacific Games in 1963, while the Pacific Mini Games began as South Pacific Mini Games in 1981.
