Niki Volou Football Club ( el, ΠΑΕ Νίκη Βόλου) is a Greek professional football club based in the city of Volos, in the region of Magnesia, Greece. The club currently competes in the Super League 2, the second tier of Greek football. History Niki Volou was founded on 19 August 1924 as Gymnastic Club of Volos' Refugees or Refugee Gymnastic Association, by Greek refugees who came from Asia Minor. Niki participated for the first time in the championship of the first category before the establishment of the First National, as in 1953–54 she was the winner of the Northern Group and this gave her the ticket for the final phase of the National Division Championship 1953–54, Six teams (Athens (2) – Piraeus – Thessaloniki – North – South) took the 5th place with 16 points, ahead of Panahaiki, who finished the championship with 13. Panthessaliko Stadium
The Panthessaliko Stadium is a stadium located at Volos, Greece. The stadium was the site of football (soccer) matches during the 2004 Summer Olympics. It was officially opened on July 30, 2004 and has a capacity of 22,700 seats, though only 21,100 seats were made publicly available for the Olympic matches. The Panthessaliko Stadium is the home stadium of the Volos N.F.C. who plays on the Super League Greece. It also hosted the 2017 Greek Football Cup Final, where PAOK defeated AEK 2–1. Nikos Bourganis ( el, Νίκος Μπουργάνης; born 21 April 1997) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Super League 2 club Niki Volos. Career Early career Nikolaos Bourganis has been at PAOK since 2019. Christos Gromitsaris ( el, Χρήστος Γρομητσάρης, born 10 February 1991) is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Super League 2 club Niki Volos. Career Gromitsaris began his football career with local amateur club Elpides Agrinio, before being acquired by Athenian club Atromitos at the age of 17. Gromitsaris was promoted to the men's team two years later, and was consecutively loaned out to Gamma Ethniki clubs Agia Paraskevi, P.A.O. Rouf and Apollon Smyrni to receive substantial playing time.
