Nigerian Ministry Of Women Affairs
The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development is a part of the Federal Ministries of Nigeria that promotes the development of women and children in Nigeria. The ministry is currently headed by Pauline Tallen, a former Deputy Governor of Plateau State. Organisation The ministry is headed by a Minister appointed by the President, assisted by a Permanent Secretary, who is a career civil servant. Hajia Maryam Inna Ciroma (born 11 September 1954) was appointed Nigerian minister of Women Affairs in July 2005 by President Olusegun Obasanjo. She was replaced by Saudatu Bungudu when President Umaru Yar'Adua swore in his cabinet in July 2007. Background Ciroma was born on 11 September 1954 in Borno State. Pauline Kedem Tallen OFR (born 8 January 1959 ) is a Nigerian politician and the current Minister for Women Affairs Minister and Social Development. She was appointed in 2019 by President Muhammadu Buhari after turning down ambassadorial nomination in 2015 on the grounds that she was not consulted prior to the announcement of the appointment and that she would not accept the offer for equal distribution of power among the three senatorial districts of her native state of plateau because she is from same local government as Governor Simon Lalong. In 1999, she was appointed Minister of State for science and technology to the cabinet of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo. Aisha Abubakar is a Nigerian politician. Following the 2015 Nigerian general elections, she was appointed as the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015. Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan (16 September 1959 – 7 May 2021), popularly known as Mama Taraba, was a Nigerian lawyer and politician. She was appointed in 2015 to the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari after his election until her resignation in July 2018. She was previously a senator, representing Taraba North senatorial district of Taraba State, Nigeria which she won under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Saudatu Usman Bungudu (born 15 January 1942 in Bungudu, Zamfara state Nigeria) was appointed Nigeria's Women Affairs and Social Development minister in July 2007.
