Nigel Hadgkiss
Nigel Clive Hadgkiss is a British-born Australian police officer and public servant, who was the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner until resigning on 13 September 2017. He was previously an Assistant Commissioner with the Australian Federal Police and was the Director of Operations at the Wood Royal Commission into the New South Wales Police Force. Early life Hadgkiss was born in the Midlands of England into a working-class family consisting of Ida Olive and Cyril Lesley as well as two siblings by the name of Rosalind and Paul. His father worked at the BSA Motorcycle factory in Birmingham. He was encouraged by his uncle to pursue a career in law, but gave up a university place in London to join the Royal Hong Kong Police Force. Australian Building And Construction Commission
The Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC) is an independent, statutory authority of the Australian Government, responsible for promoting understanding and enforcing workplace relations compliance in the Australian building and construction industry. The ABCC is established under the ''Building and Construction Industry (Improving Productivity) Act 2016'' (Cth) (BCIIP Act). The ABCC existed in a different form as the Office of the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner between 2005 and 2012, and was replaced by Fair Work Building and Construction (FWBC) between 2012 and 2016. In 2015 the Abbott Government attempted to reinstate the ABCC, but the legislation failed to pass the two houses of Parliament. Eric Abetz
Eric Abetz (born 25 January 1958) is a former Australian politician who was a Senator for Tasmania from 1994 to 2022, representing the Liberal Party. He was the Minister for Employment and the Leader of the Government in the Senate in the Abbott Government from 2013 to 2015. He previously also served as Special Minister of State in the Howard Government from 2001 to 2006 and as Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Conservation from 2006 to 2007. Born in Germany (in what was then West Germany), Abetz emigrated to Australia as a small child, when his father came to work for Tasmania's Hydro Electric Commission. He was educated at the University of Tasmania and was a barrister and solicitor before entering politics. Winston Churchill Memorial Trusts (WCMT) are three independent but related living memorials to Sir Winston Churchill, based in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
