Nigel Boogaard
Nigel Boogaard ( ; born 14 August 1986) is a former Australian professional footballer who played as a central defender in the A-League. Boogaard currently plays for Charlestown Azzurri in the Northern NSW Football National Premier Leagues competition. Club career Central Coast Mariners Coming from the Weston Workers Bears, Boogaard has had a rollercoaster career. He scored his first A-League goal for the Mariners in a match against bitter rivals Newcastle Jets on 14 August 2009 (also his 23rd birthday). It was a miscued header off the shoulder after poor defending and the keeper dropped it over the line. Adelaide United Boogaard signed with Adelaide United on 6 November 2009 and joined them for their upcoming AFC Champions League campaign. Central Coast Mariners Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Gosford, on the Central Coast of New South Wales. It competes in the A-League Men, under licence from the Australian Professional Leagues (APL). The Mariners were founded in 2004 and are one of the eight original A-League teams. It is the first professional sports club from the Gosford region to compete in a national competition. A-League All Stars Game
The A-Leagues All Star Game is a association football match contested by the A-Leagues All Stars team against an invitee club. The All Stars team is made up of selected A-League Men players. The game is played during the footballing off-season, the first of which was held on 20 July 2013. After the 2014 edition, the All Star Game was not held for almost a decade, before the concept was revived in 2022 and is expected to continue for at least the 2023, 2024 and 2025 A-League seasons as part of the commercial agreement with the NSW State Government to play a "Football Festival" culminating with the A-League Grand final in Sydney for those three seasons. The 2006–07 A-League was the 30th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the second season of the A-League since its establishment the previous season. 2005–06 A-League
The 2005–06 A-League was the 29th season of top-flight soccer in Australia, and the inaugural season of the A-League. After over 12 months without a national professional club competition since the close of the 2003–04 National Soccer League season, the first match in the A-League was played on 26 August 2005. The competition was made up of a triple round robin league stage before a championship playoff featuring the top four teams. Of the eight participants, four came from the National Soccer League (1977–2004): Perth Glory (established 1995), New Zealand Knights (1999), Newcastle Jets (2000) and Adelaide United (2003). Taylor Francis George Regan (born 16 November 1988) is an Australian football (soccer) player who plays as a defender for Charlestown Azzurri. Career Newcastle Jets Regan joined the Jets as part of the youth system in 2008 from state league club Azzurri FC. He captained the team and played primarily as a center back. On 3 June 2010 his strong performances were rewarded with a one-year contract. Taylor Regan made his Debut on 16 October 2010 in Round 10 against Brisbane Roar. Jacob Melling (born 4 April 1995) is an Australian professional football (soccer) player who plays as a defensive midfielder for Charlestown Azzurri. Biography Melling attended Saint Paul's College, Gilles Plains. He was raised through the South Australian youth football setups of Modbury Jets and then the South Australian Sports Institute Football Program (SASI) before playing a key part in the South Australian side's championship win in the FFA State Institute Challenge in 2010. A-League Men (known as the Isuzu UTE A-League for sponsorship reasons) is the highest-level professional men's soccer league in Australia and New Zealand. Besart Berisha (born 29 July 1985) is a Kosovan retired professional footballer who played as a striker.
