Niederglatt is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History Niederglatt is first mentioned in 1149 as ''Niderunglatto''. Between 1153 and 1155 it was mentioned as ''Nidrunglate''. Until 1840 it was part of the municipality of Niederhasli. Geography Niederglatt has an area of . Of this area, 58.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 6.4% is forested. Niederglatt Railway Station
Niederglatt is a railway station in the Switzerland, Swiss canton of Zurich and Niederglatt, municipality of Niederglatt. It is located on the Bülach branch of the Bülach-Regensberg Railway and served by Zurich S-Bahn line S9 (ZVV), S9. Niederglatt was the junction for the former Niederglatt-Otelfingen railway line, which once connected with Otelfingen railway station, Otelfingen station on the Furttal railway line, Furttal line but closed to through trains in 1937. The first of the line, from Niederglatt as far as the Tanklager Mettmenhasli, has been retained as a siding, and joins the main line just to the south of the station. Niederhasli is a municipality in the district of Dielsdorf in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. History Niederhasli is first mentioned in 931 as ''Hasila''. On 10 January 2000, Crossair Flight 498 crashed in Niederhasli after taking off from Zurich Airport, killing all 10 people on board. The accident was caused by pilot error which lead to loss of control of the aircraft. Geography Niederhasli has an area of . Glatt (Rhine)
Glatt () is the name of a lesser affluent to the High Rhine in the Unterland of the canton of Zurich, Switzerland. It is long and flows out from the Greifensee through the Glatt Valley, discharging into the Rhine by Glattfelden. Whereas the upper reaches are only gently inclined, the stream gets steeper beneath, forming banks of bed load. The earliest mention of the Glatt ''(fluvii, qui dicitur glat)'' dates to 1034. The education system in Switzerland is very diverse, because the constitution of Switzerland delegates the authority for the school system mainly to the cantons.
