Nida Allam
Nida Allam (born December 15, 1993) is an American politician, political activist, and data analyst. She currently serves on the Durham County Board of Commissioners, to which she was elected in 2020, making her the first Muslim woman to serve in public office in North Carolina. Allam is one of five women to serve on the Durham County Board of Commissioners; this is the first time the board has consisted entirely of women in its 139-year history. Since 2018, Allam has served as the Chair of the Durham Mayor’s Council for Women. She was elected as the Third Vice-Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party and served from 2017 to 2021, becoming the first Muslim to serve on the party’s executive board. On November 8, 2021, Allam announced that she would be seeking the Democratic Party's nomination for Congress in North Carolina's newly redrawn 4th Congressional District. Al-Nida' (Kuwait)
''Al-Nida ('The Call') was a newspaper published from Kuwait City during the Iraqi occupation 1990–1991. In August 1990 the Iraqi authorities shut down the ''al-Qabas'' newspaper and founded ''al-Nida'' using the requisitioned facilities of ''al-Qabas''. ''Al-Nida was the sole newspaper published in Kuwait during this period. It was distributed for free in Kuwait. It was also sold in Jordan. The newspaper carried speeches by Saddam Hussein and information of laws and decrees issues by the Iraqi authorities. The newspaper was shut down on 1 January 1991, without any stated explanation. After the fall of Iraqi rule in Kuwait, 24 former employees of ''al-Nida'' were tried in Martial Law Court. Niddah (or nidah; he, נִדָּה), in traditional Judaism, describes a woman who has experienced a uterine discharge of blood (most commonly during menstruation), or a woman who has menstruated and not yet completed the associated requirement of immersion in a ''mikveh'' (ritual bath). In the Book of Leviticus, the Torah prohibits sexual intercourse with a ''niddah''. The prohibition has been maintained in traditional Jewish law and by the Samaritans. It has largely been rejected by adherents of Reform Judaism and other liberal branches. NIDA () is a political party in the Netherlands, describing itself as "being inspired by Islam". It was founded in 2013 by Nourdin El Ouali, a former municipal councillor in Rotterdam for GroenLinks. The party is currently only represented at the municipal level, with two seats in Rotterdam and one seat in The Hague. The party shares the same electorate as Denk, mostly Islamic immigrants, although NIDA is more religiously oriented. ''Al Nida'' (Arabic: النداء; ''The Appeal'') was a daily newspaper which was published in Beirut, Lebanon, in the period 1930–1940. The paper also had a French language edition. It is known for being one of the first Arabic newspapers which featured translations of Adolf Hitler's book ''Mein Kampf''. History and profile ''Al Nida'' was established by Kazem Al Solh in Beirut in 1930. He also owned and edited the paper which ceased publication in 1940. Muqtida Hasan Nida Fazli, known as Nida Fazli (12 October 1938 – 8 February 2016), was a prominent Indian Hindi and Urdu poet, lyricist and dialogue writer. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013 by the government of India for his contribution to literature. Early life and background Born in New Delhi, into a Kashmiri Muslim family, Nida Fazli grew up in Gwalior, where he attended school and subsequently studied English literature. His father was also a very well known Urdu poet. Two of his other brothers mainly; Tasleem Fazli & Saba Fazli too were prominent names of Indo-Pak.
