Nicolae Dumitrescu (1970)
Nicolae "Coco" Dumitrescu (8 December 1921 – 17 March 1999) was a Romanian footballer and manager. As a footballer, he played mainly as a forward and throughout his career, he won four Divizia A titles and two cups with ITA Arad and as a manager, he won two titles with the same team, also in the 1970–71 European Cup season they eliminated Feyenoord who were European champions at that time and for these performances he is considered a symbol of the club. Club career Nicolae "Coco" Dumitrescu was born on 8 December 1921 in Bucharest, Romania and he started to play football in 1938 at local club, Suter. 1970–71 European Cup
The 1970–71 season of the European Cup club football tournament was won by Ajax in the final against Panathinaikos. It was the first time the cup went to Ajax, beginning a three-year period of domination, and the second consecutive championship for the Netherlands. Adalbert Kovács (28 September 1920 – August 1999) was a Romanian football player who played as a striker. Club career Adalbert Kovács was born on 28 September 1920 in Timișoara, Romania. He started to play football at the junior squads of Electrica Timișoara, afterwards going to play for Chinezul Timișoara where he also started to play at senior level, afterwards going to play in Hungary at second league side, Kaposvár. On 9 March 1947, Kovács made his Divizia A debut, playing for Flamura Roșie Arad in a 5–1 victory in which he scored a hat-trick against Libertatea Oradea, scoring a total of 13 goals in 13 appearances, helping the club win the 1946–47 Divizia A title. Ladislau Bonyhádi
Ladislau Ludovic Bonyhádi ( hu , Bonyhádi László; born 25 March 1923 - deceased 13 June 1997 in Miami, Florida, United States) was a Romanian football player of Hungarian ethnicity. He was one of the legends of UTA Arad, being the top-goalscorer of Liga I twice, in 1947 and 1948. In the 1947–48 season, he scored 49 goals, which is still a record for Romanian first league, despite that Dudu Georgescu scored 47 goals in the 1976 -1977 season whom was regarded as European record, until Messi scored 50 goals in the 2011–2012 season. He earned also three caps for the Romania national side. After his last season at ITA Arad, he went to Hungary, and played for a few teams in a lower league. Petre Steinbach
Petre Steinbach (January 1, 1906 in Timișoara, Romania – 1996 in Germany), was a Romanian football midfielder and manager. Career His career in club football was spent at CAM Timișoara between 1925 and 1928, also playing for Colțea Brașov in 1928–1929, then he moved to Unirea Tricolor București, where he spent 10 years, for a while as a player-coach. Steinbach finished his playing career in the 1939–1940 season at Olympia București. After World War II, Steinbach, because of his German origins was sent for a while to forced labour in the USSR, Joseph Stalin considering that German people doing forced labour was a way for the Germans to pay "war reparations". In 1947 he became coach at ITA Arad, helping the team win the second title in the club's history. Clubul Sportiv Muncitoresc Reșița (), commonly known as CSM Reșița or simply as Reșița, is a professional football club based in Reșița, Romania, currently playing in the Liga III. Zoltán Opata
Zoltán Opata (also known as Zoltán Patai or Ormos Patai; 24 September 1900 – 19 May 1982) was a Hungarian football player and manager. As a player, he won six Hungarian league championships with Budapest-based side MTK in the 1920s and regularly appeared for Hungary national football team. After retiring from playing he became a manager and had successful spells with clubs in Yugoslavia, Romania and Poland. Playing career Born in Budapest, Opata first began playing as a teenager at local minnows MÁVAG in 1917. Three years later he accepted an offer to join Hungarian club MTK, who had lost some of their strikers to foreign clubs in the previous two years.
