Adalbert Kovács
Adalbert Kovács (28 September 1920 – August 1999) was a Romanian football player who played as a striker. Club career Adalbert Kovács was born on 28 September 1920 in Timișoara, Romania. He started to play football at the junior squads of Electrica Timișoara, afterwards going to play for Chinezul Timișoara where he also started to play at senior level, afterwards going to play in Hungary at second league side, Kaposvár. On 9 March 1947, Kovács made his Divizia A debut, playing for Flamura Roșie Arad in a 5–1 victory in which he scored a hat-trick against Libertatea Oradea, scoring a total of 13 goals in 13 appearances, helping the club win the 1946–47 Divizia A title. 1947–48 Cupa României
The 1947–48 Cupa României was the 11th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by ITA Arad against CFR Timișoara. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. In the first round proper, two pots are made, the first pot with Divizia A teams and other teams until 16 and the second pot with the rest of teams qualified in this phase. First-pot teams will play away. Each tie is played as a single leg. In the first round proper, if a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, and if the score is still tied after 120 minutes, the team from the lower league will qualify. The 1948 Balkan Cup, officially called the Balkan and Central European Championship, was played between April and November 1948 between Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia. Ferenc Rónay
Ferenc Rónay or Francisc Rónay (29 April 1900 – 6 April 1967) was a Hungarian-Romanian footballer and manager. Rónay was the first ever scorer of the Romania national football team, giving them the equaliser against Yugoslavia in their debut, part of the 1922 King Alexander's Cup. Stadionul Giulești-Valentin Stănescu (1939)
Giulești-Valentin Stănescu Stadium was a football stadium in Bucharest, Romania. It was the home stadium of FC Rapid București for almost 80 years. It was named after Valentin Stănescu, the coach that helped Rapid to win its first title, but was most commonly known as the "Giulești Stadium", after the name of the neighborhood in which it was located. Landmarks near the stadium include Podul Grant, Giulești Theatre and Prunaru market. Gara de Nord is not far away from the stadium and the Grivița Railway Yards are right next to it. The stadium was entirely demolished in 2019, and has been replaced with the Rapid Arena, a new all-seater stadium that opened in 2022.
