Nicola (name)
Nicola or Nichola is a Latinised version of the Greek personal name ''Nikolaos'' (Νικόλαος), derived from the '' nikē'' meaning "victory", and ''laos'' meaning "people", therefore implying the meaning "victory of the people". Nicola is both a female and a male name, depending on cultural norms. Nicola was a frequently given male personal name among the traditional Italian nobility, and was used often in the Middle Ages.''The Golden Legend or Lives of the Saints'', compiled by Jacobus de Voragine, Archbishop of Genoa, 1275. First edition published 1470. The spelling Nikola is widely used in Slavic language speaking areas, reflecting the transliteration of the Cyrillic spelling Никола. The English form of the same name is Nicholas, with Nicolas common in French and Spanish-speaking countries, and Nicolau in Portuguese-speaking countries. Nicola has been used as a female name since at least 1150 (the birth date of Lady Nicola de la Haie) and continues as a cont ... La Croix Sparkling Water
LaCroix or La Croix ( ) is an American brand of sparkling water that originated in La Crosse, Wisconsin, by G. Heileman Brewing Company and is now distributed by National Beverage Corporation. Their flavors include various fruits and fruit blends. History In February 1980, the G. Heileman Brewing Company, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, introduced LaCroix as one of the first "Anti-Perrier" brands. Meant to appeal to sparkling water consumers who were put off by Perrier's "snobbish positioning", LaCroix marketed to its niche by imaging itself as an "all occasion" beverage. The beverage fared well in popularity and sales in the surrounding Midwest region for the following decade. By 1992, the brand was estimated to be worth US$25 million. However, in the same year, due to Heileman's admitted lack of experience outside the beer market, it sold the brand to National Beverage (then Winterbrook). In 2002, National Beverage sought to rebrand LaCroix and ended up settling on the design t ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Nicola (album)
''Nicola'' is the fifth album by Scottish folk musician Bert Jansch, released in 1967. An orchestrated version of "Train Song" was attempted during the ''Nicola'' sessions but, while fondly remembered by arranger Dee Palmer (credited under the birthname David Palmer), did not make the finished product. Neither did two further outtakes "In This Game" and "Dissatisfied Blues" (both of which he performed live during the city hall tour of early 1967) although they later appeared on ''Box of Love - The Bert Jansch Sampler Vol. 2'' (1972), issued on Transatlantic shortly after Bert had left the label. They have also been resurrected on the new reissue of ''Nicola''. Track listing # "Go Your Way My Love" (Jansch, Anne Briggs Anne Patricia Briggs (born 29 September 1944) is an English folk singer.
