Nick Pickard
Nicholas Pickard (born 27 May 1975) is an English actor. He is known for his portrayal of Tony Hutchinson in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', a role he has held since its first episode in 1995; he remains the longest-serving cast member. Early life Nicholas Pickard was born on 27 May 1975 in Surrey. He studied at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and Corona Theatre School worked extensively in the theatre before joining ''Hollyoaks''. His young brother, John, was also educated at the earlier school; John went on to join ''Hollyoaks'' in 2005, 10 years after Pickard did. When Pickard joined ''Hollyoaks'', he relocated to Liverpool, where the programme is filmed. Career In his acting debut, Pickard played Mio, the lead role in ''Mio in the Land of Faraway'' (1987), starring alongside a young Christian Bale, where he was credited as Nicholas Pickard. Dandini is a character in the opera ''La Cenerentola'' by Rossini and also in the ''Cinderella'' pantomime. He is the male servant of the Prince (the principal male character: Don Ramiro in the opera, commonly Prince Charming in the pantomime). Dandini helps the Prince to meet the principal female character (known as Angelina or Cinderella) without her knowing that he is a prince. Dandini pretends to be the prince and the real prince pretends to be his servant. In panto it is often played by a young woman, who dresses similarly to the Principal boy for the identity swap. Liverpool Empire Theatre
The Liverpool Empire Theatre is a theatre on the corner of Lime Street in Liverpool, England. The playhouse, which opened in 1925, is the second one to be built on the site. It has the largest two-tier auditorium in the United Kingdom and can seat 2,348 people. History The site's first theatre, which was at that time was Liverpool's largest, was named the "New Prince of Wales Theatre and Opera House" opened on 15 October 1866. On 29 July 1867 its name was changed to the "Royal Alexandra Theatre and Opera House" in honour of Princess Alexandra, Princess of Wales. In 1894, the playhouse closed but was re-opened the following year under the ownership of Empire Theatre (Liverpool) Ltd. In 1896 the theatre was sold to Messrs. Dominic "Dom" Reilly is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', played by John Pickard.
