Nick Cheuk
Nick Cheuk Yik-him (; born 21 October 1987) is a Hong Kong director and screenwriter best known for his directorial debut '' Time Still Turns the Pages'' (2023), which earned him Best New Director in the 60th Golden Horse Awards and Best New Director in the 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards. Biography Cheuk was born on 21 October 1987, in Hong Kong. He is the son of Warner Cheuk, the incumbent Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong. He had his secondary education at Raimondi College, the alma mater of his father, but did not perform well academically. However, he became immersed in video editing after creating NBA highlight reels with Windows Movie Maker and received positive feedback on online forums. Patrick Tam (film Director)
Patrick Tam Kar-ming (; born 25 March 1948) is a Hong Kong film director and film editor. He is known as the seminal figure of Hong Kong New Wave and the mentor of Wong Kar-wai. Career Tam directed the 1987 film '' Final Victory'', scripted by Wong Kar-wai. He edited Wong Kar-wai's ''Days of Being Wild'', contributing the cameo appearance of Tony Leung Chi-wai in the last scene, and ''Ashes of Time'', as well as Johnnie To's ''Election''. As part of Hong Kong's New Wave of film directors in the late 1970s and 1980s, Tam's work enjoys great acclaim. In Hong Kong, the suicide rate of primary, secondary, and post-secondary students is relatively high, particularly beginning in the 2014–2015 academic year. The suicide cases are not connected, but the frequency of suicides aroused public's attention to the mental health and academic pressure of Hong Kong students.
