James Michael Nicholl (born 28 December 1956) is a Northern Irish former professional Association football, footballer who played for several clubs, including Manchester United F.C., Manchester United and Rangers F.C., Rangers. He was mainly a defender (association football)#Full-back, right-back but could also play in other defensive roles. Nicholl won a total of 73 international cap (football), caps for Northern Ireland national football team, Northern Ireland, scoring one goal. After retiring as a player, he moved into coaching and management. He enjoyed success as manager of Raith Rovers F.C., Raith Rovers, winning the 1994–95 Scottish League Cup. Kate Nicholl
Kate Siobhan Nicholl (born 4 May 1988) is a Northern Irish politician who is an MLA for Belfast South and who served as the 79th Lord Mayor of Belfast from June 2021 until her election as an MLA in May 2022. She is a member of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland. She was the first Lord Mayor in recent history not to be born in the United Kingdom or Ireland. Early life Nicholl was born in Marondera, Zimbabwe. Her father comes from County Down and her mother Helen comes from South Africa, where her family was involved in anti-Apartheid activism. Charles "Boomer" Bowen Nicholl (19 June 1870 – 9 July 1939) was a Welsh international rugby union forward who played club rugby for Cambridge University and Llanelli. Nicholl played for Wales on fifteen occasions during the 1891 and 1896 Home Nations Championships, and was part of the historic 1893 Triple Crown winning team. Anthony Nicholl
Anthony Nicholl , also ''Nicoll'', or ''Nicolls'', November 1611 to February 1658, was an English politician, friend and associate of Parliamentary leaders John Pym and John Hampden. In the political struggles that followed victory in the 1642 to 1646 First English Civil War, he was one of the Eleven Members accused by senior Army officers in July 1647 of attempting to destabilise the kingdom. Suspended in January 1648, he was restored, then expelled in Pride's Purge of December 1648. He returned to Parliament in 1654, and was appointed Sheriff of Cornwall in 1656. Christopher John Nicholl (born 12 October 1946) is an English-born former Northern Ireland international footballer who later worked as a coach and manager. Playing career Nicholl was born in Macclesfield. He played for Burnley (1963–1966) (no league appearances), Witton Albion, Halifax Town (1968–1969) (42 league appearances, 3 goals) and Luton Town (1969–1972) (97 league appearances, 6 goals), before establishing himself as a centre-half with Aston Villa (1972–1977) (210 league appearances, 11 goals). He captained the side to victory over Everton in the 1976/1977 League Cup after two final replays. Terence John Nicholl (born 16 September 1952) is an English retired Association football midfielder who played professionally in both England and the United States. He later managed several indoor teams in the United States where he was the 1987 and 1988 American Indoor Soccer Association Coach of the Year. Playing career Nicholl's clubs included Crewe Alexandra, Sheffield United and Gillingham, where he made over 180 Football League appearances. In 1981, he moved to the USA where he signed with the Wichita Wings of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Andrew Nicholl RHA (4 April 1804 – 16 April 1886) was an Irish painter. He was a founding member of the Belfast Association of Artists and in 1847 was elected as an associate member to the Royal Hibernian Academy, becoming a full member in 1860. Early life Nicholl was born in Belfast on 4 April 1804, the second son of Henry Nicholl, a bootmaker. In 1822, at the age of 18, he was apprenticed to printer Francis Dalzell Finlay for seven years. Commander Sir Edward Nicholl (17 June 1862 – 30 March 1939) was a British officer of the Royal Naval Reserve who subsequently became a Conservative Member of Parliament (MP).
