Nicholas O'Shea
Nicholas O'Shea (25 April 1864 – 1912) was an Irish people, Irish hurling, hurler who played as midfielder for the Dublin GAA, Dublin senior team. O'Shea joined the team during the ill-fated All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1888, 1888 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1890, 1890 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland medal and one Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, Leinster medal. O'Shea captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 1889. At club level O'Shea was a two-time Dublin Senior Hurling Championship, county club championship medalist with Kickham's GAA, Kickham’s. Dan Lane
Daniel Lane (1861 - 3 June 1940) was an Irish people, Irish hurling, hurler who played as a forward for the Cork GAA, Cork senior team. Born in Coachford, County Cork, Lane first played competitive hurling in his youth, prior to the establishment of the Gaelic Athletic Association. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-nine when his club team represented Cork. In his sole season with Cork, Lane won one All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland medal and one Munster Senior Hurling Championship, Munster medal. All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 1889
The 1889 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the third staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 27 July 1889 and ended on 3 November 1889. Tipperary were the defending champions; however, they were defeated in the provincial series. Dublin won the title following a 5-1 to 1-6 defeat of Clare in the final. Teams A total of ten teams contested the championship, one less than the previous year. It was the first championship to be completed since 1887.
