Nicholas Jones (actor)
Nicholas Jones (born 3 April 1946) is an English actor who has appeared on stage and in film and television. Early life Jones was born in London, the younger brother of actress Gemma Jones. They are the children of actor Griffith Jones (1909–2007) and Robin Isaac. He was educated at Westminster School. Career Jones has played leads on television, at the Royal National Theatre, and on the West End Stage. He also appeared with the Royal Shakespeare Company (1999), and has starred at Shakespeare's Globe. Griffith Jones (actor)
Griffith Jones (born Harold Jones; 19 November 1909 – 30 January 2007) was an Anglo-Welsh film, stage and television actor. Early life Born in Notting Hill, London, on 19 November 1909, Jones was the 5th child of Welsh language, Welsh-speaking dairy owner and former lead miner William Thomas Jones and Harriet Eleanor J. Doughty (1878–1973). In 1930, he was studying law at University College London when Kenneth Barnes (director), Kenneth Barnes, the Principal of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, noticed him in a student performance and offered him a career as an actor. ''Copying Beethoven'' is a 2006 American dramatic film released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and directed by Agnieszka Holland which gives a fictionalized take on the triumphs and heartaches of Ludwig van Beethoven's last years. ''Kavanagh QC'' is a British television series made by Central Television for ITV between 3 January 1995 and 25 April 2001. All five series are available on DVD in both Region 1 and Region 2. Plot The series starred John Thaw as barrister James Kavanagh QC, who comes from a working-class upbringing in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Although having been alluded to in Series 1 Episode 1, this is only revealed in later episodes as his parents' health deteriorates and through an exchange with a colleague who presumed that Kavanagh was actually a Yorkshireman. ''Wings'' is a drama series about the Royal Flying Corps that ran on BBC television from 1977 to 1978. It stars Tim Woodward as Alan Farmer, a young blacksmith turned fighter pilot in the First World War. Nicholas Jones played his teacher and mentor, Captain Triggers and Michael Cochrane played his upper-class friend, Charles Gaylion, who began a relationship with Farmer's girlfriend while Farmer was believed dead, shot down over France. The series reveals that the British pilots are struggling with aeroplanes which are unreliable and inferior to the German machines and with an Establishment that classes voicing an opinion to that effect as being tantamount to cowardice.
