Taekwondo At The 2015 Pan American Games
Taekwondo competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 19 to 22 at the Hershey Centre (Mississauga Sports Centre) in Mississauga. Due to naming rights the arena will be known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of eight taekwondo events were held: four each for men and women. Samuel Schachter
Samuel Schachter (born May 8, 1990) is a Canadian Olympic beach volleyball player. In 2010 he won the FIVB World Junior (U-21) Championship with Garrett May. At the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Israel, he and Team Canada won a silver medal. He and partner Josh Binstock were 2014 Canadian national champions, and represented Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games and the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, he and Binstock earned silver medals. Early and personal life Schachter was born in North York, Ontario, now lives in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and is Jewish. His parents are Jon and Doris Schachter, and he has an older brother Nathan. He attended Westmount Collegiate Institute for high school. Josh Binstock (born January 12, 1981), nicknamed Binner, is a male two-time Olympian beach volleyball player from Canada. He competed in the 2012 Olympics in London and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. He also competed for Canada in volleyball in Israel in the 2001 Maccabiah Games, the 2005 Maccabiah Games, the 2009 Maccabiah Games, the 2013 Maccabiah Games (at which he was Canada's flag-bearer, and won a silver medal), and the 2017 Maccabiah Games (at which he won a gold medal). Beach Volleyball At The 2015 Pan American Games – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament competition of the beach volleyball events at the 2015 Pan American Games took place between 13 and 21 of July at the Chevrolet Beach Volleyball Centre. The defending Pan American Games champions are Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego of Brazil. Each of the 16 pairs in the tournament will be placed in one of four groups of four teams apiece, and play a round-robin within that pool. The top two teams in each pool advance to the Quarterfinals. The third along with the fourth-placed teams in each group, will be eliminated. The 8 teams that advanced to the elimination rounds will play a single-elimination tournament with a bronze-medal match between the semifinal losers. The North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) is the international governing body for the sports of volleyball in Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean. NORCECA is the continental confederation that represents its 35 member associations at the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) level. It also has six associate members: Bonaire, Saba, Saint Martin, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Erick Rodríguez (born 1 June 1990) is a Nicaraguan middle-distance runner competing in the 1500 metres and 3000 metres steeplechase. He represented his country at the 2015 World Championships and 2016 World Indoor Championships without advancing from the first round.
