Niara Scarlett
Niara Scarlett is a British-born singer-songwriter, perhaps most famous for her work with British production house Xenomania. Scarlett appeared on a number of dub, garage, grime, and house singles in the latter half of the 1990s and the 2000s. Background Scarlett has co-written some of the most influentional pop songs of the past ten years, including Girls Aloud's debut single " Sound of the Underground" and "Hole in the Head" by Sugababes. In 2004, she released "Looking for a Place" as part of a duo Mania, consisting of Scarlett and Giselle Sommerville. Mania was a joint venture between producer Brian Higgins and BMG. An album, ''Do You Know Your Daughter's on the Roof'', was planned, but never saw the light of day due to the disappointing chart position of "Looking for a Place". Mutya Buena
Rosa Isabel Mutya Buena (born 21 May 1985) is an English singer and songwriter who rose to fame as a member of girl group the Sugababes. With the Sugababes, Buena had four UK number one singles, an additional six top-ten hits and three multi-platinum albums. After leaving the group in December 2005, she released her debut solo album, ''Real Girl'' in June 2007. In October 2010, Buena released a compilation album dedicated to British singers, titled ''Sound of Camden: Mutya Buena''. MTV Base was a British pay television music channel from Paramount Networks UK & Australia that focused primarily on hip hop, R&B, grime, garage, reggae, funk, soul and dance music. Kingslee James McLean Daley (born 1 December 1983), better known by his stage name Akala, is a British rapper, journalist, author, activist and poet from Kentish Town, London. Grime (music)
Grime is a genre of electronic music that emerged in London in the early 2000s. It developed out of the earlier UK dance style UK garage, and draws influences from jungle, dancehall, and hip hop. The style is typified by rapid, syncopated breakbeats, generally around 140 beats per minute, and often features an aggressive or jagged electronic sound. Emceeing is a significant element of the style, and lyrics often revolve around gritty depictions of urban life. The style initially spread among pirate radio stations and underground scenes before achieving some mainstream recognition in the UK during the mid-2000s through artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Kano, Lethal Bizzle, and Wiley. Natacha Atlas ( ar, نتاشا أطلس}; born 20 March 1964) is an Egyptian-Belgian singer known for her fusion of Arabic and Western music, particularly hip-hop. She once termed her music "'' cha'abi moderne''" (modern popular music). Her music has been influenced by many styles including Maghrebain, hip hop, drum and bass and reggae. Atlas began her career as part of the world fusion group Transglobal Underground. In 1995, she began to focus on her solo career with the release of ''Diaspora''. She has since released seven solo albums and been a part of numerous collaborations. The Cinematic Orchestra is a British nu jazz and downtempo music group created in 1999 by Jason Swinscoe. The group is signed to independent record label Ninja Tune. The Cinematic Orchestra have produced four studio albums, ''Motion'' (1999), '' Every Day'' (2002), ''Ma Fleur'' (2007) and ''To Believe'' (2019), and two film soundtrack albums, ''Man with a Movie Camera'' (2003) and '' The Crimson Wing: Mystery of the Flamingos'' (2009).
