Every Day (album)
''Every Day'' is the second studio album by the Cinematic Orchestra. It was released through Ninja Tune on 27 April 2002 in Japan and 13 May 2002 elsewhere. It was re-released in November 2003 with two additional tracks. It was written and produced by band members Phil France and Jason Swinscoe. In 2010, it was awarded a gold certification from the Independent Music Companies Association, which indicated sales of at least 100,000 copies throughout Europe. Roots Manuva
Rodney Hylton Smith, better known by his stage name Roots Manuva (born 9 September 1972), is a British rapper and producer. Since his debut in 1994, he has produced numerous albums and singles on the label Big Dada, achieving commercial success with albums ''Run Come Save Me'' and ''Slime & Reason''. He has been described as "one of the most influential artists in British music history." His most recent studio album, '' Bleeds'', was released in October 2015. Biography Smith grew up around Stockwell, London, England. His parents were from a small village in Jamaica where his father was a preacher and tailor. Beat Records was an independent record label started by California night club promoter Stephen Zepeda (a.k.a. Steve Zepeda). Beat Records had record releases by Gary Valentine (of Blondie), The Furys, and The Plimsouls (featuring Peter Case). It spanned the 1978 to 1980 time period of Los Angeles rock. Zepeda is best known for booking Bogart's night club in Long Beach, California, which was a very popular hub for alternative music in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad
''The 7th Voyage of Sinbad'' is a 1958 Technicolor heroic fantasy adventure film directed by Nathan H. Juran and starring Kerwin Mathews, Torin Thatcher, Kathryn Grant, Richard Eyer, and Alec Mango. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures and produced by Charles H. Schneer. It was the first of three Sinbad feature films from Columbia, the later two from the 1970s being ''The Golden Voyage of Sinbad'' (1973) and ''Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger'' (1977). All three Sinbad films were conceptualized by Ray Harryhausen using Dynamation, the full color widescreen stop-motion animation technique that he created. John Barry (composer)
John Barry Prendergast (3 November 1933 – 30 January 2011) was a British composer and conductor of film music. He composed the scores for eleven of the ''James Bond'' films between 1963 and 1987, as well as arranging and performing the "James Bond Theme" for the first film in the series, 1962's '' Dr. No''. All Things To All Men is a song by the Cinematic Orchestra, featuring vocals from English rapper Roots Manuva and an instrumental composition from Welsh musician Rhodri Davies. It is the sixth and longest track on the Cinematic Orchestra's second studio album, '' Every Day'' (2002). Composition The track begins with a sampling from composer John Barry's soundtrack from the 1968 motion picture Petulia. After different instrumental variations and the addition of a bass rhythm, the track introduces rapper Roots Manuva with a 4 minute long segment over the original sampling. In his lyrics, he references the TARDIS, a fictional spacecraft used in the popular science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'', as well as American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson. The track then tones down in intensity to a piano riff, and eventually finishing with a Harp solo by Welsh musician Rhodri Davies.
