Ngardy Conteh George
Ngardy Conteh George is a Sierra Leonean-Canadians, Canadian film director, editor and producer. Early life Ngardy Conteh George was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and is the youngest of four children. Early in her childhood, her family moved to Toronto, Ontario. Track and field Conteh George attended the University of New Orleans (1997-2001) on a track and field scholarship where she competed in triple jump and high jump competitions. Conteh George placed 3rd in high jump at the 1998 Sunbelt Indoor Conference Championship. In 2001, Sun Belt Conference announced that Ngardy Conteh was part of the 2000-2001 commissioners list and Academic Honor Roll. The commissioners list is a compilation of student athletes who maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average for the previous two semesters or three quarters. Yorkton Film Festival (YFF) is an annual film festival held in late May in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. In 1947, the Yorkton Film Council (YFC) was founded and in 1950 the first international documentary film festival officially opened in western Canada on 11 October. The festival originally was named Yorkton International Documentary Film Festival and latter become known as Yorkton International Film Festival. In 1969, the Yorkton Film Council disbanded and the Yorkton International Film Festival Society was formed. Alison Duke is a Canadian film director, producer, and writer. She is the co-founder and director of Oya Media. Biography She is a graduate of the University of Windsor from where she earned a master's degree in 1991. She also holds a master's in film production from York University. Alison started her career in 1996 as a producer and worked for several organizations including CHUM Television. In 2001, her first feature film, ''Raisin' Kane'', was released.
