New York State Route 195
New York State Route 195 (NY 195) was a long north–south state highway located within the town of Lawrence in St. Lawrence County, New York, in the United States. The southern terminus of the route was at NY 11B in the hamlet of Nicholville. Its northern terminus was at U.S. Route 11 (US 11) in the community of Lawrenceville. NY 195 was located in an extremely rural portion of the county and had only three intermediary intersections with other through traffic roads. NY 195 was first a piece of the former Route 30, a legislative route designated by the state in 1908. The route was replaced in 1924, by NY 2, the first set of signed state routes in New York, with a bypassed section near Lawrenceville being designated as NY 2A about two years later. Malone (village), New York
Malone is a village in, and the county seat of, Franklin County, New York, United States. Its population was 5,911 at the 2010 census. The village is in the town of Malone. It is home to a campus of North Country Community College. History The community was first settled around 1802. During the War of 1812, the village was sacked by British troops making incursions from what would become Canada. Malone was incorporated as a village in 1853. It served as a staging point for one arm of the 1866 and 1870 Fenian raids of Canada, which took place at many points along the Canada–United States border. St. Regis Falls is a census-designated place (CDP) in Waverly, Franklin County, New York, United States. The population of the CDP was 464 at the 2010 census. Meacham Lake
Meacham Lake is a lake eight miles north of Paul Smiths in Franklin County, New York in the Adirondack Park. It is long, north to south, and wide. The lake is found at an elevation of . Most of the lake is in the town of Duane; the southernmost shore is in the town of Brighton. The state purchased the most of the land around the lake in 1931-32, and it is a part of the Debar Mountain Wild Forest; motors are permitted on the lake. Massena is a village in St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. The village is named after André Masséna, one of Napoleon's generals. The Village of Massena is at the southwestern town line of the Town of Massena, with a small southeastern section of the community spilling into the Town of Louisville, and a tiny portion in the Town of Norfolk. New York State Route 72 (NY 72) is a state highway in the North Country of New York in the United States. The road is an east–west highway located entirely within the eastern part of St. Lawrence County. The western terminus of NY 72 is at an intersection with NY 56 in the town of Potsdam, south of the village of Potsdam. Its eastern terminus is at a junction with NY 11B west of the community of Hopkinton in the town of Hopkinton. The NY 72 designation dates back to 1930; however, the route initially followed an entirely different alignment from Potsdam to Hopkinton and was much longer than it is now, extending as far east as Brighton, Franklin County. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. The office of Superintendent of Public Works was created by an 1876 amendment to the New York State Constitution.
