New York Skyports Seaplane Base
New York Skyports Inc. Seaplane base is a seaplane base in the East River VFR corridor in New York City, located at the foot of 23rd Street (Manhattan), East 23rd Street between Waterside Plaza and Stuyvesant Cove Park. A seaplane ramp was constructed at East 23rd Street in the mid-1930s and the seaplane base became part of the marina that opened on April 18, 1962. Operations There are no instrument approaches for this airport. Pilots must receive special training and be approved by a member of the North East Seaplanes Pilot's Association and are not permitted to fly over the Queensboro Bridge. Most operations at the seaplane base occur between May and September, when flights are made for weekend getaways to Fire Island, New York, Fire Island and The Hamptons, although seaplanes can land throughout the year provided that there is no ice in the river. East Hampton Airport
Town of East Hampton Airport (prior to May 19, 2022 its name was East Hampton Airport and its codes were KHTO/HTO) is anairport located in Wainscott, New York, just west of the Village of East Hampton. The airport is owned and operated by the Town of East Hampton. Effective May 19, 2022, the airport went from a public to a private airport according to FAA records. However, enforcement of the change of the private rules was delayed by a temporary injunction at the request of aviation users of the airport. On October 19, 2022, Paul J. The Cessna 185 Skywagon is a six-seat, single-engined, general aviation light aircraft manufactured by Cessna. It first flew as a prototype in July 1960, with the first production model completed in March 1961. The Cessna 185 is a high-winged aircraft with non-retractable conventional landing gear and a tailwheel. Over 4,400 were built with production ceasing in 1985. When Cessna re-introduced some of its most popular models in the 1990s, the tailwheel equipped Cessna 180 and 185 were not put back into production. Shelter Island is an island town in Suffolk County, New York, United States, near the eastern end of Long Island. The population was 3,253 at the 2020 census. Geography Shelter Island is nestled between the North and South Forks of Long Island. It is surrounded on three sides by Shelter Island Sound and on the fourth side by Gardiners Bay.
