New Order (Portugal)
The New Order (''Ordem Nova'') was a Portuguese neo-fascist political movement that existed between 1978 and 1982. The organisation was created by Gilberto Santos e Castro, a former commando leader in Portuguese Angola. Neo-fascism is a post-World War II far-right ideology that includes significant elements of fascism. Neo-fascism usually includes ultranationalism, racial supremacy, populism, authoritarianism, nativism, xenophobia, and anti-immigration sentiment, as well as opposition to liberal democracy, social democracy, parliamentarianism, liberalism, Marxism, neoliberalism, communism, and socialism. Portuguese Angola refers to Angola during the historic period when it was a territory under Portuguese rule in southwestern Africa.
