New Mexico United U23 is a development soccer team under the parent club New Mexico United based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The team will compete in the Mountain Division of the Western Conference of USL League Two, the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid. History On January 23, 2020, New Mexico United announced the creation of a reserve team which would have begun play in the 2020 season. However, the USL League Two season was cancelled on April 30, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The U23 team will bridge the gap between the High Performance Youth Program and the first team. On April 16, 2022, New Mexico United U-23 announced their participation in the 2022 USL League Two season with Luke Sanford, the director of the youth academy, as head manager. Home matches are to be held throughout the state in the cities of Albuquerque, Roswell, Santa Fe, Taos, Gallup, and Farmington. Peter Trevisani
Peter John Trevisani (born January 3, 1968) is an American businessman, investor, and founding CEO and president of USL Championship soccer club New Mexico United. Early life and career Peter Trevisani attended Boston College, where he played football as a linebacker alongside Darren Flutie and Mark Chmura. iHe graduated with a B.A. in marketing, and later with an MBA in finance from Columbia University. Early in his career he worked at Lehman Brothers in London from 1996 to 1999. Trevisani founded Waybid, which created liquidity for business-to-business marketplaces, and served as the company's CEO. Waybid was backed by Venture Capital firms Draper Fisher Jurvetson and RRE Ventures. 2020 USL League Two Season
The 2020 USL League Two season was to have been the 26th season of the USL League Two, the top pre-professional soccer league in the United States, since its establishment in 1995. Flint City Bucks were the defending champions after defeating Reading United in the National Championship the previous season. The regular season was scheduled to start on May 3 and conclude on July 17. There would have been a record of 81 teams participating in this season. On April 30, 2020 the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
