Route 475 is a long west–east secondary highway in the northwest portion of New Brunswick, Canada. The route's southern terminus starts at the intersection of New Brunswick Route 134, Route 134 and New Brunswick Route 515, Route 515, in the town of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Bouctouche. The road is a continuation of Route 515 (Irving Blvd) called Chemin-du-Couvent in the Bouctouche Neighbourhood of Sainte-Jean-Baptiste, New Brunswick, Sainte-Jean-Baptiste. New Brunswick Route 505
Route 505 is a long north–south secondary highway in the northwest portion of New Brunswick, Canada. The route's northern terminus is at the intersection of Route 134 and Route 495. The road begins as Centennial Avenue East and travels north-east in the village of Five Rivers. The road runs parallel to the south bank of the Richibucto River as it travels north-east crossing Beeties Creek. The road turns and crosses Route 11 in Jardineville, and it then makes a sharp 90 degree turn east entering the community of Peters Mills. The road continues and enters the community of Richibucto-Village and then Cap-Lumiere. The road then takes a sharp 90 degree turn south following the coast of the Northumberland Strait before turning slightly inland however still following the coast. The road passes Petit-Chockpish and Caissie-Village, and it crosses the Chockpish River near the merge with Route 475. It turns southeast where it ends in the community of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent ... Northumberland Strait
The Northumberland Strait (French: ''détroit de Northumberland'') is a strait in the southern part of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in eastern Canada. The strait is formed by Prince Edward Island and the gulf's eastern, southern, and western shores. Boundaries The western boundary of the strait is delineated by a line running between North Cape, Prince Edward Island and Point Escuminac, New Brunswick while the eastern boundary is delineated by a line running between East Point, Prince Edward Island and Inverness, Nova Scotia. Hydrography The Northumberland Strait varies in depth between 17 and 65 metres, with the deepest waters at either end. The tidal patterns are complex; the eastern end has the usual two tides per day, with a tidal range of 1.2 to 1.8 metres, while the western end effectively has only one tide per day. Bouctouche is a Canadian town in Kent County, New Brunswick, Kent County, New Brunswick. History Bouctouche was originally named Tjipogtotjg (pronounced ''Chebooktoosk''), a Mi'kmaq word meaning "Great Little Harbour". The region was next settled by brothers Francois LeBlanc and Charles LeBlanc, and brothers Isidore Bastarache and Joseph Bastarache in 1785 as an Acadian community. "La Croix commémorative aux fondateurs de Bouctouche" was unveiled August 29, 1954, to pay tribute to the founders of the town, who first arrived in 1785. It says "We remember François and Hélène (née Breau) LeBlanc; Charlitte and first wife Marie (née Breau) LeBlanc, and his second wife Madeleine (née Girouard); and Joseph and Marie (née Girouard) Bastarache".
