Østfold
Østfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in southeastern Norway. It borders Akershus and southwestern Sweden (Västra Götaland County and Värmland), while Buskerud and Vestfold are on the other side of Oslofjord. The county's administrative seat was Sarpsborg. Ladies Norwegian Open
The Ladies Norwegian Open is a professional golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour and featured on the LET Access Series schedule in 2015 and 2016. Highlights The 2015 edition saw a record-breaking 14-hole sudden-death playoff between Johanna Gustavsson of Sweden and Natalia Escuriola of Spain. Both players recorded an opening bogey on the first playoff hole, the 368 yard par-4 9th at Larvik Golf Club, which they played three times before alternating between the 1st and 9th holes until the 10th extra hole. They then moved back to the 9th hole until Gustavsson was able to break the deadlock on the 14th extra hole with a birdie three. In 2016, the final day featured a special format, as it was played alongside the men's Norwegian Open over the Skjeberg course. It was the first time an event on the LET Access Series has featured this format, which follows that of the Oates Victorian Open, played at the Beach Links in Victoria, Australia. Daniela Yvonne Holmqvist (born 3 May 1988) is a Swedish professional golfer. She was in contention at the 2020 Women's British Open, holding the lead as the only player to finish under-par after 36 holes. Personal life Holmqvist was born in Switzerland to Yvonne and Hans Holmqvist, a Swedish professional footballer with 27 appearances for the national team, who played for Young Boys in Bern at the time. Amateur career After finishing high school in Stockholm she moved to the United States and played college golf at Tulane University, where she was awarded Conference USA Freshman of the year. She also won the Conference USA Championship with the team and individually by a record of 10 strokes. Marianne Skarpnord
Marianne Skarpnord (born 11 February 1986) is a Norwegian professional golfer playing on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career As a junior, Skarpnord was considered one of the biggest talents in Norwegian golf. In 2003, she won the Girls Amateur Championship, defeating Beatriz Recari of Spain in the final match. She also won the Junior Solheim Cup with Europe the same year. Skarpnord made a 6 footer to secure the win for the European team. In 2004, she finished 3rd in the British Girls Championship. She finished 12th in the qualifying school for the Ladies European Tour and got her tour card for the 2005 season. Laurette Maritz (born 13 January 1964) is a South African professional golfer. She won three titles on the Ladies European Tour between 1988 and 1990, and was LET Rookie of the Year in 1988. Early life and amateur career Maritz grew up in Johannesburg and started playing golf when she was 11. Consumed by the sport, she quit high school after the 11th grade. Playing on the South African National Team, she won tournaments in Europe, and she was thinking about turning professional. After meeting LPGA Tour player Sally Little in 1983 she accepted a golf scholarship to United States International University in San Diego, where she earned All-American honors four times and a BA in Physical Education.
