Roderick Neil Brown, Queen's Counsel, Q.C. is a lawyer, biologist, Canadians, Canadian politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary Nose Hill, Calgary-Nose Hill as a Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, Progressive Conservative. Hugh MacDonald (born August 5, 1955) is a Canadians, Canadian politician, who represented the electoral district (Canada), electoral district of Edmonton-Gold Bar in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. Bharat Agnihotri (born April 9, 1953) is a Canadian politician and a former member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. He represented the constituency of Edmonton-Ellerslie, sitting as a Liberal. Raj Pannu
Rajinder Singh "Raj" Pannu (born January 12, 1934) is a Canadians, Canadian educator and politician, who led the Alberta New Democratic Party from 2000 to 2004. Pannu was born in Punjab, India, Punjab, India completing an undergraduate degree before immigrating to Canada in 1962. He settled in Whitecourt, Alberta, where he worked as a high school teacher until 1964. The Alberta New Democratic Party (french: Nouveau Parti démocratique de l'Alberta), commonly shortened to Alberta's NDP, is a social-democratic political party in Alberta, Canada. Dan Backs (born December 15, 1953) is a politician and former member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. 2008 Alberta General Election
The 2008 Alberta general election was held on March 3, 2008, to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. It was expected to be called early because the governing Progressive Conservatives held a leadership election on December 2, 2006, in which Ed Stelmach was elected to replace Ralph Klein as party leader and Premier. The election was called when Stelmach formally advised Lieutenant Governor Norman Kwong to dissolve the Legislature, which happened on February 4, 2008. With 53% of the popular vote, the Progressive Conservatives won a decisive majority over the Liberal and other parties, despite early suggestions of a closer race.
