2018–19 Azerbaijan First Division
The 2018–19 Azerbaijan First Division is the second-level of football in Azerbaijan. Sabail-2 were the defending champions. Teams Sabah was promoted from the 2017–18 season to Azerbaijan Premier League, while Kapaz relegated to the First Division. On 9 August 2018, it was announced that Keşla-2, Neftçi-2, Qarabağ-2, Sabah-2, Sabail-2, Sumgayit-2 and Zira-2 will participate in the First Division. Bine, Khazar and Mil-Muğan didn't participate in this season. Azerbaijan First Division
The Azerbaijan First Division ( az, Azərbaycan Birinci Divizionu) is the second highest professional division in Azerbaijani professional football (soccer), football. The division is run by Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan, AFFA. No teams are promoted to Azerbaijan Premier League, Premier Division. History Due to the dissolution of the Soviet Union, all Azerbaijan clubs of the former Soviet Top League, Soviet Premier Division and Soviet First League, Soviet First Division conformed a single Azerbaijan Premier League, which meant that the new second tier of Azerbaijan football would remain regionalized. For the first two seasons three regional groups conformed the second tier, until in 1994 the single table in use today began to be used. Competition format The First Division currently consists of 14 teams. All teams play each other two times. Media coverage CBC Sport currently own all the rights to broadcast the season's games on terrestrial TV.

Neftçi PFK
Neftçi Professional Football Club ( az, Neftçi Peşəkar Futbol Klubu), commonly known as Neftçi PFK or simply Neftçi (), is an Azerbaijani football club based in the capital, Baku, that currently plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the highest tier of Azerbaijan football. The club was founded in 18 March 1937 and played under the name of Neftyanik until 1968. Since then he has been competing under the name of Neftçi. Neftçi played for a total of 27 seasons in the Top Division of Soviet football. The main achievement of that period is the bronze medals of the USSR Championship won in 1966. Neftçi has won nine Azerbaijan Premier League titles, six Azerbaijan Cups and two Azerbaijan Supercup titles. Mahmud Qurbanov
Makhmud Gurbanov ( az, Mahmud Qurbanov; born 10 May 1973) is a football midfielder from Azerbaijan. He has won Azerbaijani championship record 12 times with six different teams. He started his career in FC Kapaz, and has since played for PFC Neftchi, Kapaz (second spell) and FK Shamkir before he played abroad with Iranian team Foolad FC and Ukrainian team FC Tavriya Simferopol. He later rejoined PFC Neftchi. He then signed with FC Inter Baku, where he played until he joined Sumgayit FC. ASK Arena ( az, ASK Arena), formerly Inter Arena and Shafa Stadium is an all-seater football stadium located in Baku . The stadium was built on the site of Termist stadium in 2001 and has a capacity of 8,125 spectators. The stadium surrounded by practice fields, administration buildings and four-star hotel. Background ASK Arena was built by AFFA in 2001. The first match played was a 2001–02 UEFA Cup first qualifying round between Shafa Baku and Olimija Ljubljana where the match ended 0–4. The Azerbaijan Premier League ( az, Azərbaycan Premyer Liqası) is a professional league for men's association football clubs.
