Nebraska Cornhuskers Softball
The Nebraska Cornhuskers softball team represents the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I. The program was founded in 1976 as a club sport and became an officially sanctioned varsity sport the next year. NU plays its home games at Bowlin Stadium, constructed in 2001 as part of the Haymarket Park complex. Nebraska has made twenty-five appearances in the NCAA Division I softball tournament, with seven Women's College World Series berths. The team has been coached by Rhonda Revelle since 1993. (born August 8, 1970) is an American sports administrator and former football linebacker who is the director of athletics at University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He played college football at Nebraska, where he won the Dick Butkus Award and Jack Lambert Trophy as a senior. Alberts was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2015. Following his collegiate success, Alberts played in the National Football League (NFL) with the Indianapolis Colts, who selected him fifth overall in the 1994 NFL Draft. His career would only last three seasons, however, due to injuries. Alberts pursued a broadcasting career before serving as the athletic director at the University of Nebraska-Omaha from 2009 to 2021. Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters Softball
The Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters softball team represents Louisiana Tech University in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in Conference USA. They are currently coached by head coach Josh Taylor. They play home games at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. The Lady Techsters have made eleven NCAA Tournament appearances and have advanced to the Women's College World Series three times. On April 25, 2019, a tornado struck the Louisiana Tech campus, completely destroying the team's home stadium that was then known as the Lady Techster Softball Complex. Missouri Southern State University (Missouri Southern, MSSU, or MoSo) is a public university in Joplin, Missouri. It was established in 1937 as Joplin Junior College. The university enrolled 4,346 students in Fall 2021. History Missouri Southern State University was founded in 1937 as Joplin Junior College. At its conception, Joplin Junior College had 114 students and only 9 faculty members. ''Poa pratensis'', commonly known as Kentucky bluegrass (or blue grass), smooth meadow-grass, or common meadow-grass, is a perennial species of grass native to practically all of Europe, North Asia and the mountains of Algeria and Morocco. Although the species is spread over all of the cool, humid parts of the United States, it is not native to North America. The Spanish Empire brought the seeds of Kentucky bluegrass to the New World in mixtures with other grasses. In its native range, ''Poa pratensis'' forms a valuable pasture plant, characteristic of well-drained, fertile soil. The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team competes as part of NCAA Division I, representing the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference. Nebraska plays its home games at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park, built in 2001 to replace the aging Buck Beltzer Stadium. The program began intercollegiate play in 1889 and has been coached by Will Bolt since 2020. Nebraska's baseball program was disjointed in its first decades, frequently disbanding for years at a time. The hiring of Tony Sharpe in 1947 brought stability to the program, but success was limited. Sharpe and his successor John Sanders combined to lead NU for fifty-one seasons, making just three NCAA Tournament appearances between them.
