Nebo, Missouri
Nebo is an unincorporated community in eastern Laclede County, in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. The community lies on Missouri Route 32, approximately five miles northwest of Lynchburg and about fifteen miles southeast of Lebanon. The site is within the Mark Twain National Forest. History A post office called Nebo was established in 1868, and remained in operation until 1960. The community most likely derives its name from Mount Nebo Mount Nebo ( ar, جَبَل نِيبُو, Jabal Nībū; he, , Har Nəḇō) is an elevated ridge located in Jordan, approximately above sea level. The Ozarks, also known as the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Highlands or Ozark Plateau, is a physiographic region in the U.S. states of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and the extreme southeastern corner of Kansas. Route 32 is a highway in Missouri. Its eastern terminus is at the Mississippi River near Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Ste. Mark Twain National Forest
Mark Twain National Forest (MTNF) is a U.S. United States National Forest, National Forest located in the southern half of Missouri. MTNF was established on September 11, 1939. It is named for author Mark Twain, a Missouri native. The MTNF covers of which is public owned, of which are Wilderness, and National Scenic River area. MTNF spans 29 counties and represents 11% of all forested land in Missouri. Mount Nebo
Mount Nebo ( ar, جَبَل نِيبُو, Jabal Nībū; he, , Har Nəḇō) is an elevated ridge located in Jordan, approximately above sea level.
