Ndubuisi Okosieme
Ndubuisi Okosieme (born 28 September 1966) is a former Nigerian international football player. He was a skilful right–winger who played professional club football in Nigeria and Belgium, as well as representing the Nigeria national under-20 football team (Flying Eagles) and the senior Nigeria national football team (Green Eagles) in tournament football at international level. He was known by the nickname "Garrincha" during his football career. Career As a promising schoolboy player in 1983, Okosieme was disappointed to be rejected by his local club Bendel Insurance for being too small. He signed with Nigerian Rubber Board FC instead, the club who became known as Flash Flamingoes. During his time with Flash Flamingoes, Okosieme accepted a transfer to New Nigeria Bank FC. The owner of Flash Flamingoes scuppered the transfer by threatening to pull his own funds out of the bank if they signed Okosieme. 1988 African Cup Of Nations
The 1988 African Cup of Nations was the 16th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the soccer championship of Africa ( CAF). It was hosted by Morocco, who replaced original host Zambia. Just like in 1986, the field of eight teams was split into two groups of four. The tournament final was held in Casablanca at Stade Mohamed V. Cameroon won its second championship, beating Nigeria in the final 1−0. This tournament has the fewest goals-per-game average in Africa Cup of Nations tournaments. Host selection The original host was Zambia but after their withdrawal in December 1986 due to financial issues, the Confederation of African Football approached Algeria which agreed to host the tournament. The 1991 FIFA World Youth Championship was the eighth staging of the FIFA World Youth Championship, an international football competition organized by FIFA for men's youth national teams, and the eighth since it was established in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Tournament. Football At The 1988 Summer Olympics
An association football tournament was played as part of the 1988 Summer Olympics. The tournament featured 16 men's national teams from six continental confederations. The teams were drawn into four groups of four with each group playing a round-robin tournament. At the end of the group stage, the top two teams advanced to the knockout stage, beginning with the quarter-finals and culminating with the gold medal match at the Seoul Olympic Stadium on 1 October 1988. Before the final match, the Soviets relocated from the Olympic Village to Soviet steamship stationed nearby. Canada Men's National Under-20 Soccer Team
The Canada U-20 men's national soccer team (also known as Canada Under-20s or Canada U-20s) represents Canada in international soccer at this age level. They are overseen by the Canadian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Canada. The Nigeria Football Federation (known as Nigeria Football Association until 2008) is Nigeria's football governing body.
