Derjan
Derjan is a village and a former municipality in the Dibër County, northern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Mat. The population at the 2011 census was 1,102. It includes the following settlements: Derjan, Urxallë, Barbullej, Dukagjin, Gjoçaj, Lam i Madh, Zall Gjoçaj. Demographic history Derjan (''Dirjani'') is recorded in the Ottoman ''defter'' of 1467 as a settlement belonging to the timar of Ali in the vilayet of Mati. The village was relatively small with a total of five households which were represented by the following household heads: ''Pal Balazi'', ''Mihal Divalmi'', ''Andrija Kipota'', ''Gjergj Divalmi'', and ''Gjon Kipota''. Merited Artist (Albania)
Merited Artist of Albania ( sq, Artist i Merituar) was a state honorary title for the decoration of outstanding art performers of People's Socialist Republic of Albania. It was created by law in 1960 and amended in 1980. The title was no longer given in Albania after the law was amended in 1996. Definition The title is the state award of Albania that was given for the personal merit in Albania to the citizens that worked in their respective artistic field as a rule of no less than ten (10) years obtaining high on-the-job achievements and professional mastery. Conditions The title was awarded by the President of Albania. It was given to citizens of Albania, foreigners, and persons with no citizenship. Mimika Luca
Mimika Luca (24 December 1937 – 21 February 2023) was an Albanian actress and dancer. Personal life Luca was born on 24 December 1937 in Gjirokastër. She spent her childhood in an orphanage. She began her artistic career in 1951 with solo performances on the stage of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania as a ballet dancer. In 1962, she joined the People's Theater (Alb. Teatri Popullor), where she performed as an actress. She played 30 roles on the national stage. From 1977, she taught students at the Drama Department of the University of Arts in Tirana. Luca made her big screen debut in 1963 with a cameo role in the film Detyre e posaçme. After that, she starred in 14 feature films, seven of which were the main roles. She had starred in several dramas, the most frequently performed on Albanian stages being Drita (Light), completed in 1968.
