National Socialist Party Of Tripura
National Socialist Party of Tripura is a political party in the Indian state of Tripura. NSPT was formed when Hirendra Tripura and others broke away from the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura in the summer of 2003. One of the principal leaders of INPT, Shyamcharan Tripura, took the side of NSPT. With the help of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) members in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), the NSPT were quickly able to win control over the TTAADC. In the 2005 elections to the TTAADC the NSPT contested four seats, supported by the Left Front. All four candidates were elected. In spite of the name, the party has no connection with Nazism or any other European use of the term "National Socialism". Tripuri Nationalism is an ideology that supports self-determination by the Tripuri people. The conflict is in essence ethnic and the Tripuri community, indigenous to the region formed the clear majority of population in the princely state of Tippera, which joined the Republic of India in 1949 as the state of Tripura. The issue has led to a number of armed uprisings and Insurgency in Tripura. There was a rebellion in 1950, and armed conflict continued to erupt in the 1980s to 2000s. Since 1989, the armed rebellion was mostly led by the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force ATTF). The Bengali side retaliated by forming militias of their own, such as the United Bengali Liberation Tiger Front (UBLTF), which destroyed a number of Tripuri villages in 2000. The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (abbr. INPT) was a political party in the Indian state of Tripura. Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl was the President of the party. It merged with the Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Alliance (TIPRA) party on 11 June 2021. The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) is an autonomous district council administering the Tipra-dominated areas of the state of Tripura, India. Its council and assembly are situated in Khumulwng, a town 26 km away from Agartala, the state capital. Presently, with the result of 2021 ADC election held at 6 April, TIPRA Motha has emerged as the majority with 18 seats along with its ally The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra. 2005 Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council Election
Elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) were held on 5 March 2005. The election result was a landslide victory for the Left Front. The Left Front, with 71.63% of the votes cast, won all 28 seats that were up for election. 21 seats went to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), 4 seats for NSPT, one seat to the Communist Party of India, one seat for RSP and one seat to the All India Forward Bloc. The Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra was the second largest party with 13.22% vote share and Indian National Congress emerged as a third-largest party in the election with 12.70% of the votes. The Left Front is a political alliance in the Indian state of Tripura. The Left Front governed Tripura 1978–1988, and again from 1993 to 2018. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) is the dominant party in the coalition. The other three members of the Left Front are the Communist Party of India, the Revolutionary Socialist Party (India), Revolutionary Socialist Party and the All India Forward Bloc. The insurgency in Tripura was an armed conflict which took place in the state of Tripura between India and several separatist rebel organisations. It was a part of the wider insurgency in Northeast India and was fueled by Tripuris. Background Tripura, literally meaning land adjoining water, is located in the extreme southwest corner of the Northeast. Following India's independence in 1947, Tripura acceded to the Indian Union in 1948 as a "C" category State. It became a Union Territory in November 1956. Tripura attained full Statehood on 21 January 1972. Tripura's demography underwent a major change as a result of illegal migration and refugees from former East Bengal and subsequently from Bangladesh.
