National Resistance Center Of Ukraine
Center of National Resistance of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Центр національного спротиву) was created in March 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the under the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The aim of creating the Center is to teach the civilian population of Ukraine methods of non-violent resistance to the enemy. At the beginning of its activity, the Center focused its efforts mostly on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The Center operates within the framework of "On the Foundations of National Resistance" law, which was adopted on July 16, 2021, by Ukrainian parliament and entered into force on January 1, 2022. Like all post-Soviet states, Ukraine inherited its special forces (Spetsnaz) units from the remnants of the Soviet armed forces, GRU and KGB units. The 83rd Guards Air Assault Brigade is an airborne brigade of the Russian Airborne Troops, first formed in 1986. It is currently based in Ussuriysk. History Soviet era The brigade traces its history back to the formation of the 65th Separate Air Assault Battalion in Białogard from the 126th Separate Guards Reconnaissance Battalion of the 6th Guards Motor Rifle Division in November 1985, part of the Northern Group of Forces. Between May and November 1986, the battalion was expanded to form the 83rd Separate Air Assault Brigade under the command of Colonel V.M. Sinitsyn. The brigade participated in the "Druzhba-86" exercises of Warsaw Pact troops.
