Coahoma is a town in Coahoma County, Mississippi, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 229. History Coahoma was founded in the 1880s, and named for its location within Coahoma County. Coahoma was a stop on the Mississippi Delta Railroad, completed in 1884. Moon Lake is an unincorporated community located in Coahoma County, Mississippi, United States. Moon Lake is approximately south of Lula and approximately north of Coahoma. The community of Moon Lake is located along Moon Lake. Moon Lake Casino In 1926, the Clarksdale Elks Club built a lodge on Moon Lake. The property changed ownership in 1936, and the Moon Lake Casino was opened there. Tennessee Williams visited Moon Lake Casino, and referred to it in all but two of his plays. Mississippi Highway 1 (MS 1) is a state highway in Mississippi that runs south from U.S. Highway 49 near Lula to U.S. Highway 61 south of Cary, roughly paralleling the Mississippi River. It travels approximately , serving Sharkey, Issaquena, Washington, Bolivar, and Coahoma Counties.
