United States Route 62
U.S. Route 62 or U.S. Highway 62 (US 62) runs from the Mexican border at El Paso, Texas, to Niagara Falls, New York, near the Canadian border. It is the only east-west United States Numbered Highway that connects Mexico and Canada. Parts of US 62 follow what once was the Ozark Trail, including the historic bridge across the South Canadian River in Newcastle, Oklahoma (the first structure built with federal highway funds in Oklahoma). This bridge was damaged beyond repair by the 2013 Moore tornado that struck Newcastle and Moore, Oklahoma. The highway is signed north–south in New York and Pennsylvania. Carrollton, Arkansas
Carrollton is an unincorporated community in Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. Once designated the county seat, it had a population near the 10,000 mark in the 1850s. It now has 30 residents. It had a historically significant past. History Carrollton was settled ''circa'' 1840 and was named for Charles Carroll, a signatory of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. By the time of the American Civil War in 1860, Carrollton had grown to a population of 6,000. The town supported six hotels and three livery stables. In the center of town was a basin fed by a 3/4-mile-long flume built from cedar, which was fed from a stream higher up a neighboring mountain. A Civil War skirmish led by Confederate soldier Joe Cumia was fought there, and a historic marker now marks the site. Arkansas Highway 23 is a north–south state highway in north Arkansas. The route runs from US 71 near Elm Park north to the Missouri state line through Ozark and Eureka Springs. Between AR 16 at Brashears and Interstate 40 north of Ozark (), Highway 23 winds through the Ozark National Forest and is designated as the Pig Trail Scenic Byway due to its steep hills and hairpin turns. Arkansas Highway 103
Highway 103 (AR 103, Ark. 103, and Hwy. 103) is a designation for two north–south state highways in Arkansas. One segment begins in Clarksville in the Arkansas River Valley and runs north to the Ozark National Forest. A second route runs through a sparsely populated segment of the Ozark Mountains between the Buffalo National River and Highway 21 near the Missouri state line. The northern segment was created in 1928 and was designated as Arkansas Highway 21E (AR 21E) in the 1950s. Upon restoration as AR 103, the route saw extensions in 1957, 1960, and 1973. The second segment began as AR 123 in 1926 but was renumbered to AR 103 in a 1937 swap. This route was extended in the 1940s, 1963, and 1965.
