National Paralympic Committee Of Pakistan
The National Paralympic Committee of Pakistan is the primary body in Pakistan for the promotion of sports for the disabled. The key focus of the committee is to organize, supervise and co-ordinate games and competitions for the disable. The organisation is also the body responsible for selecting athletes to represent Pakistan at the Paralympic Games and other international athletic meets and for managing the Pakistani teams at these events. Dr. Tariq Mustafa is the current president of the organization, while Imran Jamil Shami is the general secretary. International Paralympic Committee
The International Paralympic Committee (IPC; german: Internationales Paralympisches Komitee) is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Paralympic Games and functions as the international federation for nine sports. Founded on 22 September 1989 in Düsseldorf, West Germany, its mission is to "enable Paralympic athletes to achieve sporting excellence and inspire and excite the world". Furthermore, the IPC wants to promote the Paralympic values and to create sport opportunities for all persons with a disability, from beginner to elite level. Dr. Tariq Mustafa (born 1934) is a Pakistani mechanical engineer with a first class honors degree from London University specializing in nuclear and space technology. The Asian Paralympic Committee (acronym: APC) is an organization based in United Arab Emirates. It has 44 National Paralympic Committees of the Asian continent as members. It organizes the Asian Para Games and is affiliated to the International Paralympic Committee. The National Olympic Committee of Pakistan was created in 1948. Pakistan first participated at the Paralympic Games in 1992, and has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Paralympic Games since then. Pakistan Olympic Association was created in 1948, while Pakistan Sports Board was established in 1962.
