National Order Of Merit (Gabon)
The National Order of Merit (french: Ordre National du Mérite) is a state order of the Gabonese Republic. The Order was instituted in 1971 and is awarded in five grades to both Gabonese and foreign nationals. It rewards civil and military services as well as professional practice dedicated to the State. The Grand Master of the Gabonese National Order of Merit is the Head of the Gabonese State. Omar Bongo
El Hadj Omar Bongo Ondimba (born Albert-Bernard Bongo; 30 December 1935 – 8 June 2009) was a Gabonese politician who was the second President of Gabon for 42 years, from 1967 until his death in 2009. Omar Bongo was promoted to key positions as a young official under Gabon's first President Léon M'ba in the 1960s, before being elected Vice-President in his own right in 1966. In 1967, he succeeded M'ba to become the second Gabon President, upon the latter's death. Bongo headed the single-party regime of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) until 1990, when, faced with public pressure, he was forced to introduce multi-party politics into Gabon. Charles-Ferdinand Nothomb
Baron Charles-Ferdinand N. M. P. Nothomb (born 3 May 1936) is a French-speaking Belgian politician. He is a member of the Humanist Democratic Centre (cdH). He served as Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1980 until 1981, and as Minister of the Interior from 1981 to 1986. Séraphin Moundounga
Séraphin Moundounga (born 29 February 1964 in Tchibanga) is a Gabonese politician who served in the government of Gabon as Minister of Justice from 2014 to 2016. Biography A member of the ruling Gabonese Democratic Party, he was first elected to the National Assembly of Gabon in the 1990 parliamentary election, and he was First Quaestor of the National Assembly from 1997 to 2009. From October 2009 to 2014 he served as Minister of National Education. One of his main projects was the renovation of the Omar Bongo University. Admiral Ben Moreell (September 14, 1892 – July 30, 1978) was the chief of the U.S. Navy's Bureau of Yards and Docks and of the Civil Engineer Corps. Marie-Madeleine Mborantsuo (born 18 April 1955) is a Gabonaise lawyer. She is the president of the Constitutional Court of Gabon (''Cour Constitutionnelle de la Republique Gabonaise'') since its foundation in 1991. Personal life and education Mborantsuo was born in Franceville on 18 June 1955. Her parents were Jean Dambangoye and Berthe Nouo. He was the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) from 1 September 2005 to 1 September 2013 for 8 years.
