''Busby Marou'' is the debut studio album by Australian blues and roots band Busby Marou. The album was originally self-released in August 2010 and was re-released on Warner Music Australia's indie imprint, Footstomp Records in June 2011 with a deluxe edition being released in March 2012. Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (22 January 1971 – 25 July 2017), commonly known as Gurrumul and also referred to since his death as Dr G. Yunupingu, was an Aboriginal Australian musician of the Yolŋu peoples. A multi-instrumentalist, he played drums, keyboards, guitar (a right-hand-strung guitar played left-handed) and didgeridoo, but it was the clarity of his singing voice that attracted rave reviews. He sang stories of his land both in Yolŋu languages such as Dhangu-Djangu language, Gaalpu, Dhuwal language, Gumatj or Dhuwal language, Djambarrpuynu, a dialect related to Gumatj, and in English. Although his solo career brought him wider acclaim, he was also formerly a member of Yothu Yindi and later of Saltwater Band. The Black Arm Band
Black Arm Band is an Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait Islander music theatre organisation. History The organisation was founded in late 2005 by Steven Richardson and has produced seven large-scale productions since its debut performance at the Melbourne Festival of the Arts in 2006 in addition to ongoing educational and development work in remote Aboriginal communities. The organisation's name comes from a speech by former Australian prime minister John Howard, who referred to a " black armband view of history". Their first show, '' murundak'' (meaning "alive" in Woiwurrung), debuted at the 2006 Melbourne International Arts Festival and afterwards played around Australia and internationally in London. Busby Marou (pronounced buz-bee ma-roo) are an Australian musical duo originally from Rockhampton, Queensland. The duo consists of Thomas Busby and Jeremy Marou while other musicians perform with them in concert. At the APRA Music Awards of 2012, the duo won "Blues & Roots Work of the Year" category. Delungra, New South Wales
Delungra is a small town on the Gwydir Highway, from Inverell and from Bingara in Inverell Shire, New South Wales, Australia. At the , Delungra and the surrounding area had a population of 647. The urban centre had a population of 285. Delungra was incorporated as a town in 1907 and celebrated the centenary of the town combined with Australia Day celebrations in 2007. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
