National Highway 119A (NH-119A) or Patna-Arrah-Sasaram highway is a proposed 4/6-lane wide national highway in Bihar, India. The NH-119A starts from Sadisopur in Patna district to Suara near Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas district, via Arrah in Bhojpur district. This highway mostly runs along Sone river. Dehri also known as Dehri-on-Sone is a Nagar parishad and corresponding community development block in Rohtas district in the state of Bihar, India. Situated on the Son River, Dehri is a large industrial town and a railway hub. Etymology The name Dehri-on-Sone is based on the sone river. The city is situated at the bank of the sone river. Demographics As of 2011, its population was 137,231, in 23,234 households. Dehri is home to the Indrapuri Barrage, the fourth-longest barrage in the world. Males were 72,372 and females 64,859. The average literacy rate was 81.2%, higher than the national average of 74%. Male literacy was 87.54% and female literacy 74.08%. The National highways in India are a network of trunk roads owned by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. National highways have flyover access or some controlled-access, where entrance and exit is through the side of the flyover, at each intersection of highways flyovers are provided to bypass the city/town/village traffic and these highways are designed for speed of 100 km/hr. Some national highways have interchanges in between but they don't have total controlled-access throughout the highways. It is constructed and managed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), and the public works departments (PWD) of state governments. Arrah (also transliterated as Ara) is a city and a municipal corporation in Bhojpur district, India, Bhojpur district (formerly known as Shahabad district) in the Indian state of Bihar. It is the headquarters of Bhojpur district, located near the confluence of the Ganges and Son river, Sone rivers, some from Danapur and from Patna. Bhojpur district is one of the thirty-eight districts of the Indian state of Bihar. Arrah town (also known as Ara) is the administrative headquarters of this district. Bhojpur district came into existence in 1972. Earlier it was the part of Shahabad district. Sone River
Son River ( hi, सोन नदी, also spelt Sone River) is a perennial river located in central India. It originates near Amarkantak Hill in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh and finally merges with the Ganges River near Patna in Bihar. Sone river is the second-largest southern tributary of the Ganges' after Yamuna River. India's oldest river bridge Koilwar Bridge over Sone River connects Arrah with Patna. Bihta is a town and Block in Patna district, Bihar state, India. Bihta is part of Maner Assembly constituency and Pataliputra Lok Sabha constituency. It is located around west of Patna. Bihta is also an upcoming satellite town of Patna. It lies from Bihta railway station. Geography Bihta is west of Patna and is an hourlong drive from the capital. The National Highways Authority of India or NHAI (Hindi: भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण) is an autonomous agency of the Government of India, set up in 1995 (Act 1988) and is responsible for management of a network of over 50,000 km of National Highway (India), National Highways out of 1,32,499 km in India.
