Nathan Williams (December 19, 1773 – September 25, 1835) was a United States representative from New York and the first lawyer to permanently establish a law practice in Utica. During the War of 1812 Williams volunteered for service and became a major in a company of militia at Sackett's Harbor. Biography Born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, on December 19, 1773, he attended the common schools in Bennington, Vermont. After his parents property was "lost in the vicissitudes of the revolution" He moved with them to Troy, New York in 1786, studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1795, and commenced practice in Utica. He was the first lawyer to permanently establish a law practice in Utica. Nathan Williams Sr. (born March 24, 1963) is an American zydeco accordionist, singer and songwriter. He established his band Nathan & the Zydeco Cha Chas in 1985. Early life Williams grew up Catholic in a French Creole-speaking home in St. Martinville, Louisiana, the youngest of seven children. Williams lost his father when he was seven years old. He developed his musical sensibility in his hometown, a place rich in folk tradition, following in the footsteps of his uncle, the Creole guitarist Harry Hypolite, who was a band member with both Clifton Chenier and later with his son C. J. Chenier. The young Williams eagerly sought out the music of zydeco originators such as Chenier. Wavves is an American rock band based in San Diego, California. Formed in 2008 by singer-songwriter Nathan Williams (born June 12, 1986), the band also features Alex Gates (guitar, backing vocals), Stephen Pope (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Ross Traver (drums and backing vocals).
